There is no spoon…. PAD #1103

Spoon... PAD #1103

This morning I made some 5 Grain Cereal. It contains Oats, Rye, Triticale, Barley and Golden Flax. I bought a container of it to bring to work so I could make a nice hot breakfast for myself when I get in. With 5g of fiber, 0 Sodium, 0 Cholesterol, 6g of protein and 454mg of Omega 3 a serving I figure I would be starting the day right. And I am at least starting it eating right. The first time I made this it blew up in the microwave. The second time I tried a few things differently and it didn’t explode much. Today I boiled the water in the microwave first. Then stirred in the cereal, then it was still watery so I put it back in for 30 seconds at a time. Each time I would take it out and stir it again. This stuff must retain a ton of heat because my spoon ended up melted in the position above.

It would be pretty hard to eat a year’s worth of free Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream with a spoon like that. So, I figure I had better get a better spoon because I stand a good chance of winning this Ice Cream give away from Elizabeth at Table for Five. But that is not all I could win, the best thing to top your ice cream with and I mean top, not just the sprinkles, hot fudge and nuts but what is the most fun to put on ice cream? That would be Reddi-wip® Real Whipped Cream. I mean, who hasn’t eaten that stuff directly from the nozzle of the can?

I really hate to tell anyone else about this contest because I would love all that ice cream for myself but here is the deal with the contest.

The 5 Grain Cereal may be a good thing for the morning but I’d really like to use a new spoon with something like a pint of New York Super Fudge Chunk® Ice Cream.

Bones: The Man in the Mud

You can watch the episode before you read any further as I will post my recap and there will be spoilers.

The episode started with a horny couple on their way to a hot mud pit in the middle of a national forest. The couple strips down and gets into the mud only to find the skeleton of a famous motorcycle racer. Ugh and ouch. Apparently it was the girl who was being poked by the skeleton. I don’t think enough showers would be possible to get that feeling of dead body off off me. Sometimes this show is really, really gross.

We quickly get into other things like the humorous sessions that Booth and Bones have to have with ‘Sweets’. I am really enjoying this character and I think it was great when he suggested that they go on a ‘double date’. The double date, observation session didn’t go that well; however, for ‘Sweets’. His cute girlfriend didn’t like how he was treating her and she decided to break up with him. Poor ‘Sweets’. During the ‘double date’ Sweet, his girlfriend, Booth and Bones went to a pottery place. Booth was dead set against doing this and ‘Sweets’ figured that it was because it was something that Booth was not good at.

I started laughing when I saw Booth in his artistic clothes. Were those his own or from the pottery place? I figure that they were his because everyone else was dressed in normal clothes. The bandanna and smock gave it away that Booth was probably good at this too. And I was right, he made a great horse sculpture that impressed the group. Then he started a playful clay fight that again backfired on ‘Sweets’.

I was reading an article on TV Squad about a phone interview with David Boreanaz. In it he said that there may be some episodes in England soon and that the season finale (2 part cliffhanger) was already written prior to the writer’s strike.

Okay, how about that dead guy. The team worked on the body and there was very little face time for the squints, this was a big Bones and Booth episode with much face time with ‘Sweets’.

To tell you the truth I was more interested in Booth and Bones to pay much attention to this week’s Death Du Jour. One thing that did stand out was that MC. Gainey (LOST’s Mr. Friendly) guest starred as a no nonsense lawyer. I wonder if he will do other episodes. Oh and in the end they did find out who murdered the motorcycle racer. Sorry, but I am finding the relationship between Booth and Bones much more interesting.
