Eva’s Birthday Week has Begun

Today when I came home from work Allison’s parents were at the house. They are staying with us for a few days as they are up from Florida for a mini vacation to visit with the family. They arrived last night after I had left for work and Eva was so excited to have them come and stay with us. So when I got home we had a small party with Halloween themed chocolate donuts with orange sprinkles on them. Then I got some rest before more family members arrived for lunch. Review: THE LION KING: Diamond Edition Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack

If you have been following this blog then you know that as a family we went to see The Lion King in 3D a week or so ago. Eva did not enjoy herself because it was too loud and she started out scared from a 3D trailer for Happy Feet 2. Well, when the movie was over she told me that if we got a copy of The Lion King on DVD that we should sell it. The next day the DVD arrived for this review. I left it on the kitchen counter and Eva found it. She promptly told Allison that she loved the movie and wanted to watch it at night. Huh? Who is this kid who emotionally drained us when we watched it in 3D? No matter she’s all about The Lion King now.

The Lion King is one of Allison’s favorite movies ever and our family collection of Disney movies had an empty slot because somehow neither of us bought the movie when it originally was released. Now with the movie on Blu-ray and DVD in one set we can enjoy the movie over and over as a family. In between singing “the Tide is Hive” Eva has been singing songs from The Lion King. She gets giggly and terrified when I quote Scar (her least favorite character) and she loves when we pretend to be the hyenas saying “Mufasa!” Eva even had Allison color in a giant Crayola poster of Mufasa that hangs on her closet door now.
