Toy Fair 2015 – Day 2

Photo-A-Day #3601

Today at Toy Fair I was running from appointment to appointment all over the main show floor once again. I was up pretty early because I had fallen asleep super early last night. I made my way over to the Javitis Center and started my day with a tour of the Just Play toys which included many Disney, Care Bears and Snoopy toys. I had to cut that appointment short because it was time for the Mattel blogger preview on the top floor of the Javits.

With Mattel I was able to see new toys for Blaze and the Monster Machines, Hot Wheels, Imaginext, Batman and so many more properties. There are some fun toys coming for all of those lines but Hot Wheels has an amazing 4 story car garage that is amazing. I want to get that for Andrew.

I also met with Razor scooters and saw the Crazy Cart XL which can hold a 6’4 240lb man. The biggest cart that they have made yet. There are a ton of super cool other toys that are coming. There is even an adult sized trike that I really , really want.

The rest of the day was full of seeing so many toys and games and cool things. The night was capped off with the Hasbro event with the folks at Litzky PR. I love the tour around Hasbro and seeing so many amazing things. I got to see the Devastator toy which is HUGE. It is incredible. Photos do not do it any sort of justice.

After that event I went to dinner with my friends Keri, Derek and Adam. We had a great meal with great conversation. It was a later night than last night but so good to be out with friends laughing and having such a great time. I wish this was more than once a year.

Cookie Monster – The Cookie Thief

Andrew with Cookie Monster Items

After being a star of many humorous digital shorts, Cookie Monster gets his very own special. I have always been a fan of Cookie Monster. He is funny and silly and loves cookies as much as me. Maybe I will learn to wait like Cookie has for the past few years. But cookies are just so tasty.

We received a screener of “The Cookie Thief” as well as some other fun items to mix cookies and art. The package included a watercolor painting set, a Cookie Monster plush, a Cookie Monster book, a chef hat, Sesame Street stickers, and a Cookie Monster shaped cookie cutter. We’ll have some fun times during these countless snow days.

In the special Cookie Monster becomes the primary suspect when famous cookie art begins disappearing. It is up to Cookie Monster, Chris and Elmo to solve the mystery of who is stealing all of the cookie art. Along the way they are helped my Prairie Dawn and Abby Cadabby. The special ends with a bunch of shorts about art including a Bert and Ernie Adventure and more. Rachel Dratch from SNL appears as a guest star in the special as well. She is the head of security for the cookie art museum. It was a funny special and it incorporated humor, impulse control and managing emotions. Continue reading Cookie Monster – The Cookie Thief
