Six New Skylanders Toys at McDonald’s Starting Today!

McDonald's Happy Meal Skylanders

Once again McDonald’s and Skylanders are working together to bring toys to the Happy Meal. This year the roster is a bit smaller than previous years with six new toys instead of nine that were released last year. I actually like that there are less, it is easier for people to collect them all. I did not have to co collect them because Activision sent them to me. What follows is my impressions of each figure.

Snapshot – Snapshot has his bow and arrow/sword traptanium weapon. The arrow snaps into place and with a little pressure it can be fired at the villains. Decent paint application and scaly crocodile skin.

Painyata – Nice to have a villain in the mix. Painyata is one of the most colorful and funny villains in the series. You can push his back and he slams down his lollipop.

Wildfire – The golden lion has his giant traptanium shield. You can wind it up and push a button to have the shield roll off toward enemies. You can also pose his left arm a bit.

Food Fight – This character comes complete with his tomato launcher. There is a disc that you put into the launcher. The disc has two sides one with a full tomato and the other with a smashed one. The disc does not fit firmly into the launcher so you need to hold it steady to launch it.

Wolfang – This character is on his knees and as you roll him he swings his arm like he’s doing the windmill with his guitar.

Wallop – This is probably my favorite figure of the bunch. Great paint applications and the way the pieces are put together. It looks great! There is a button on the back that swings his great mallets.

Adventure Friday – Reflections

Adventure Fridays - Reflections
Photo-A-Day #3689

For Adventure Friday this week I took Andrew to Stony Brook. Stony Brook is a MA Audubon Society Wildlife Sanctuary. We went there last year with the whole family and had a great time. It is over in Norfolk so it is close enough to drive to for a morning walk.

Andrew wanted to go to a playground, he loves them, but I wanted to get out into the woods and do some walking. I convinced him that there was a playground at Stony Brook, which there is but it is very small and has two things, it was the project of an Eagle Scout and for that, it is great. Andrew tired of it quickly so then we could walk in the woods. We went on down the trail tot he boardwalk and there we observed some turtles, two water snakes having an intimate moment, a frog and a bunch of birds. There were a ton of turtles, we saw both painted box turtles and a pretty big snapping turtle. Continue reading Adventure Friday – Reflections
