Auli’i Cravalho Cast as Title Character in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Moana

Moana and Maui

Disney’s newest female character, Moana will be having an adventure over a year from now. Native Hawaiian newcomer Auli’i Cravalho, 14, will join Dwayne Johnson in a mission of self discovery. I’m excited about this because I’m always looking for movies that feature strong female leads to share with Eva. This looks like ti will be a fun movie and I’ll be keeping an eye out for more news at it becomes available.

ABOUT THE MOVIE
Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast South Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one today knows why. From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated adventure about a spirited teenager who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors’ unfinished quest. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess & the Frog”), and produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), “Moana” sails into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.

Good Morning, Sunrise

Photo-A-Day #3838

Sunrise

There was a beautiful sunrise this morning. I tried to capture it with my Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. I did pretty well but having to shoot through the window makes it tough. I’m still working on figuring out how to block everything else out. I try and cover up around the camera so that i don’t get any reflections. I did pretty well but still got some on this image. Weekends are tough for getting some good images before I hit some sleep. At least I got some good sleep today. Been a long rough weekend. Very little sleep and dealing with Andrew’s ER visit was emotionally draining. So nice to have a bright sunrise.
