Happy National Super Hero Day

National Super Hero Day
Photo-A-Day #4035

Today is National Super Hero Day. I hadn’t realized it until I saw it on Facebook. But I made up for that when I went to Target and found some of the new Hot Wheels Metal/Metal Real Rides cars that were of Marvel characters. These are fully metal vehicles and man, they weigh a lot. I was surprised to find all six on the shelf and so I picked them all up. Or so I thought. I was in the Target cafe taking photos of them to post to Instagram for the purpose of showing them for National Super Hero Day, It was there that I realized that I had two of The Punisher vehicles. In my excitement and haste I guess I grabbed two of the same one and missed the Hawkeye one. Glad I realized it while in the store and was able to make the exchange.

Today I also packed up the Captain America Hot Wheels Cars for my friend Greg and mailed out the box for him and the box for my friend Andrew of Mommy’s Busy. I went to the Plainville Post Office. It is my favorite Post Office. They are so nice there. Each time I go it is a pleasant experience and so I save my mail related issues till I can get over there.

In this video I also go and open up my Captain America and Iron Man Funko figures for Captain America: Civil War. I compare them against the ones from the Marvel Collector Corps box that I received recently.

An all new LEGO STAR WARS show is hitting Disney XD on Monday, June 20th (10am EST) and because it is the premiere week there will be a new episode every day from Monday to Thursday. The show is called LEGO Star Wars™: The Freemaker Adventures and it is set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. This is an action comedy, as only LEGO can do, and follows the Freemakers. The Freemakers are a family of sibling scavengers who operate a salvage and repair shop in space. With the show being set during the original trilogy we will be seeing some familiar faces, and places, from the Star Wars universe. I’m excited to see who shows up. There will also be some brand new LEGO construction sets based on the Freemakers and their adventures (on shelves in June – perfect timing to build alongside the show). I think it may be about time that I let the kids in on the secret that I have dozens of Star Wars themed LEGO sets in our basement that have been just waiting to be opened and played with.

But before the show airs the kids and I can and explore the new LEGO® Star Wars™ Force Builder app (available now) to keep inspiring their building adventures. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Builder app allows anyone to create their own “ugly”, allowing iPhone and Android users the ability to prototype unique builds, offering thousands of configurations to inform and inspire your own real-life LEGO builds. Here is a trailer for the show.
