Review: Switch and Go Dinos

Andrew Poses with the Switch and Go Dino

We received a Switch & Go Dinos Turbo set from VTech to review. Opinions are 100% our own.

I have a very active little boy. He’s 2 1/2 years old and getting him to sit still is near impossible. He’s just a little too little for many toys but this past week we opened up the Switch & Go Dinos Turbo set which contained Zipp the T-Rex. We had a great time playing with it together. I cannot believe that I was able to capture that picture with him sitting nicely with the toy.

Switch and Go Dino Set

We got the T-Rex Launcher to try out. This set came with a launcher that looks like a T-Rex mouth and a Race Car that converts into Zipp the T-Rex. You can launch the toy in either the Zipp the T-rex or Race Car mode.

Loading the Dino into the Launcher

We have a nice long hallway downstairs. It is hardwood floors and perfect for this sort of toy. To play with it you either convert to T-Rex or Race Car. You load the toy into the launcher and then rev it up. You can rev the toy up very fast and then push a button on the side and off it goes. We launched the toy over and over again with Andrew racing down the hallway after it and bringing it back to me. He was giggling like crazy and whenever it turned and headed into the kitchen he’d call back over his shoulder, “Bye, see you soon!” Probably one of the most fun toy related experiences I’ve had with Andrew so far.

Launcher and Dino in T-Rex mode

Here is the Switch & Go Dino in T-Rex mode in the Launcher. When you convert to T-Rex mode the sounds change from Race Car phrases to dinosaur sounds and some dinosaur related phrases and facts. I thought that Andrew would be more interested in the sounds but he was all about chasing the toy around.

Launcher and dino in racecar mode

Here is the Switch & Go Dino in Race Car mode. When the toy is in this mode it makes a Vroom sound and has various race car driver phrases. I am considering getting Andrew another one for his Easter Basket this year. It was something that he thoroughly enjoyed. We played for about an hour together and he couldn’t wait to show Allison when she returned home.

  1. When I was a kid, dinosaurs were my favorite beings in existence. It was so bad that pretty much anything that marketed Dinosaurs attracted me in some way, shape, or form. This was a well written review for the toy. I enjoyed it.

  2. I am planning to buy this for my son. Thanks for the review about the same as I am feeling more confident about this.
