Feast for Bees

Photo-A-Day #3430

I walked outside today to our Sunflower and there were three bees all collecting pollen. I sat there with m camera and attempted to snap a decent shot of all three of them on the flower at once. If you thought trying to photograph two kids and keep them still was hard then you haven’t tried to photograph 3 bees at once. I got one halfway decent shot but loved this shot most of all. You can see those bees knees all filled with pollen as gathers more on the flower.

That shot of the three on the flower can be seen after the jump.

All Three on the flower

today was also haircut day for the kids. They both got trims. Eva is growing hers out again for another go at donating her hair, this would be the third time around. I’m very proud of her. Andrew was very good for his haircut and is still getting the little dutch boy cut. He is starting to look more and more like a little boy and less like a baby but we’re going with that cut for a while longer.

  1. Lovely pictures, I’ve been photographing butterflies recently and can totally understand when you say they’re difficult to photo. What is with insects and moving all the time lol. I use the Timeshift burst mode on my camera that takes 60 odd shots in a second and you can then pick the best one – it works great snapping kids and animals/insects. Anyway, keep up the good work.
