Big Hero 6 Toys

Big Hero 6 Toys

When I went to see a bunch of movies as part of a Disney Press Trip I got to see a bunch of scenes from the upcoming Big Hero 6 movie. I am so excited for this movie to come out in theaters because it looked so fun. So, when I was asked if I’d like to review some Big Hero 6 toys from Bandai I was more than excited. I couldn’t wait to check them out. We received a large box with two different toys. We received the Deluxe Flying Baymax and the Baymax Rocket Fist. These were really well done. I was lucky to have Andrew on hand to help try them out with me. He is almost 3 and so he’s a little young for the toys but he enjoyed them none-the-less. The Deluxe Flying Baymax is almost as big as he is.

Baymax is huge

Here’s some important information to know: Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Big Hero 6” premieres November 7. The action-packed comedy-adventure is about robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who learns to harness his genius—thanks to his brilliant brother Tadashi and their like-minded friends: adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred.

Playing with Baymax Fist

The Baymax mask may be a tad too small for my head but the Rocket Fist is perfectly sized for most hands and fit great for both me and Andrew.

Baymax Rocket Fist — Put the power of Baymax in your hands with the Baymax Rocket Fist. Easy reloading and fun launching up to 10 feet in distance – and soft material on the fist makes it safe, and fun to play! Price: $19.99

Baymax fist

Here is the rocket fist loaded up and ready to fire. Kids can pretend to be Baymax with the mask and the rocket fist. There are actually 3 pieces to the rocket fist. The fist, the launcher and another plastic piece that keeps falling off but is supposed to look like more armor. It gives extra length to the rocket fist. I don’t know why this wasn’t made to be part of the launcher or made to be more secure. I may just glue it on and stop being annoyed with it falling off.

Baymax Fist
The Rocket Fist flies pretty far but it flies even further when you make a punching motion and fire at the furthest point of the punch. Evan Andrew got some decent distance when he figured that out. However, he likes to come right up to you and fire the fist.

Deluxe Flying Baymax – Large and in-charge, this massive Baymax is ready to fly into battle using all his great weapons and features. Towering at 11” inches with a soaring 18-inch wingspan, the Deluxe Flying Baymax features 20 points of articulation, multiple lights, sounds and other fun features such as a launching rocket fist. Baymax comes with a 4.5” Hiro Hamada figure, which when attached to Baymax’s back unlocks additional flying sounds that vary depending on whether Baymax is flying up, or down. Price: $39.99

Flying Baymax and Hiro Standing

The Deluxe Flying Baymax is HUGE and it is heavy. This is a solid toy. The look of it is perfect and the interactive parts make for the ability to recreate a fun and heroic part of the movie. The set comes with a Small Hiro figure that connects to the back of Baymax by the knees and the hands. there are holes on each knee and the hands have pegs that magnetically attach to holes on Baymax’s back. I would have liked to have seen a Hiro figure that could stand on his own instead of having permanently bent knees. Magnets on the knees and hands would have been a better touch for more playability and poseability of the character.

Flying Baymax lights up

When you attach Hiro to Baymax the sounds that Baymax makes are different and Baymax also lights up. Normally you would push a button on Baymax’s waist to make sounds occur. However, when Hiro is attached Baymax makes flying sounds and the sounds change as your child (or their father) runs around the house swooping Baymax up and down. I had to test i and make sure that worked.

Baymax also has a flying fish that shoots off when you push a button on his upper wrist.

Big Hero 6 Toys together

We’re pretty happy with this set of toys. I think I’ll put them away for a bit until the movie comes out on November 7th and Andrew can rediscover them. Besides he keeps sending that flying fist at me, doing a Bruce Lee 1 inch punch sort of thing.
