Review: Tinker Bell and the Legend of the Neverbeast

Download Fairy Fun & Games

We received a Blu-ray Combo pack of the new Tinker Bell movie, Tinker Bell and the Legend of the Neverbeast. I’ve seen every Tinker Bell movie that has been produced and have seen them all with Eva, except for this one. Andrew and I watched it while Eva and Allison were at work. Eva will get a chance to watch it with me another night. I wanted to watch it so that I could get a review of the movie up to share it with you.

I’ve enjoyed all of the Tinker Bell movies thus far and The Legend of the Neverbeast is no exception. It just so happens that Fawn has always been my favorite fairy, followed closely by Tink. In this movie we focus on Fawn much more than we have in any other film. Fawn is the main character and that isn’t a bad thing at all. It is good to see another fairy take center stage once in a while. I think that this series lends itself to that option. There has to be tons of stories that can be told from the perspective of each of the fairy friends. This one just so happened to be told from Fawn’s.

Clip: Strange Sight

Fawn is a fairy with a huge heart for all animals but especially for very large and dangerous, or misunderstood animals. She looks for the good in all of them. This can sometimes put the rest of Pixie Hollow in danger. Fawn discovers Gruff, the Neverbeast after she has been put on a probation of sorts for bringing hawks into Pixie Hollow because she was helping a baby hawk. This puts Fawn on the outs with a new group of fairies, The Scouts. The Scouts are the protectors of Pixie Hollow. They are tough as nails and are lead by Nyx. Nyx makes Vidia look downright sweet by comparison. Nyx learns about the Neverbeast also and additionally about the legend that the Neverbeast becomes a terrible flying monster that will destroy all of Pixie Hollow… Or will he?

There is a lot more happening in this movie and it is more intense and emotional than any of the previous movies before. There is more danger in play and more action. There are some very funny as well as beautiful moments in the movie and I am sure that if the movie made me tear up at different points that Eva will also feel that emotion. I also watched the bonus features and got some great insight into the movie and how it was made it made me love it even more. I also like that Ginnifer Goodwin was the voice of Fawn. I was offered the opportunity to go and meet her on a Press Tour for this movie and had to decline because I didn’t have the vacation time, still kicking myself for that one.

I have some additional clips as well as some fun stuff to download below.
