A brand new app was released last Thursday from PlayDate Digital called Transformers Rescue Bots: Dino Island. This is the 2nd Transformers Rescue Bots storybook app (in English and Spanish). We received a copy of that app plus an Optimus Primal figure. Opinions of the app are 100% our own.
Andrew has just started to get excited about Transformers Rescue Bots. Eva has been excited about the show ever since she started pre-school. The very first Rescue Bot that she got was Optimus Prime and ever since I’ve picked up all the toys and watched all the episodes. We enjoy the series very much. So, when I got a chance to review this app and offer a giveaway I just had to do it. We also didn’t have Optimus Primal yet and that was a bonus. With the third season of Rescue Bots we see the introduction of Dino Bots. Each of the Rescue Bots get new forms during the season and this app is all about how they get their forms and learn to use their new powers. Optimus Prime also gets a dino bot form as a huge Tyrannosaurus Rex. Heatwave becomes a Brachiosaurus, Chase a Stegosaurus, Boulder a Triceratops and Blades a Pteranodon.
With the app kids can read the story on their own, listen to the story and even have the story told to them automatically with the pages turning as well. On each page there are interactive elements where kids can click on characters or items to cause things to happen. There are also some video aspects to the app and once they have completed the story kids can take photos of themselves or others with their favorite Rescue Bots. We got a copy of that app as well and Andrew couldn’t stop enjoying either app. He loved the stories. As a lifelong Transformers fan it makes me happy that my children are starting to be excited about this series that I have enjoyed so much.

My son is in LOVE with Optimis Prime dinobot. He has all the tiny dinobots, but has been begging for the “big” Optimus Prime one for a long time now!! We will be downloading the game today!
