I am a part-time stay at home dad. I say part-time because I have such a weird work schedule. I work weekend nights and that gives me time to be home with Andrew four days a week. On Mondays, I have my one day to sleep and catch back up, but for the rest of the week Andrew and I are off and running. Andrew and I are embarking on a new journey together as he starts school a couple of days a week. The bulk of my time with Andrew is keeping him occupied with things to do and getting him things to eat. The question I hear most frequently is, “Can I have a snack?” Sometimes it is right after I’ve just given him one. So I’m excited about these new MARVEL Chewy Granola Bars. They are a substantial snack that takes him a little longer to eat and keeps him satisfied longer, too. This is a good thing because when he doesn’t get a snack he might have a Hulk moment.

I certainly wouldn’t want that to occur so I make sure that there are plenty of snacks on hand which now includes these New MARVEL Chewy Granola Bars. They are easy enough to toss into the adventure day pack, lunch bag or swimming bag. They even fit into the front pocket of my life jacket for when we go kayaking together. They come in two different flavors, Chocolate Chips and Peanut Butter-Chocolate Chips. I found them at Target in the lunchbox aisle, but these are not limited to just putting in a child’s lunchbox.

During a typical week Andrew and I will do a number of activities. We will go to play group, swimming lessons, hike and much more. Some weeks I feel that I need super hero stamina just to keep up with him. So, often those snacks that I get for Andrew I also get for myself. I enjoy having a snack like the MARVEL Chewy Granola Bars because they taste good and also are big enough to satisfy my hunger. It doesn’t hurt that each bar is wrapped with a MARVEL character fact and depicts some of my favorite super heroes like Iron Man and Spider-Man. Even the boxes themselves have collectible cards that you can cut out that have facts about different MARVEL super heroes. So far I’ve found the boxes with Hulk, Spider-Man and Black Widow. I’m still looking for all of them.

We aren’t always on the go, though. When we have downtime we watch some television, color, play with toys and also play super heroes with some role play toys we own. We’ve got Thor’s hammer, Captain America’s Shield and Hulk’s hands among those toys. We also have a bunch of preschool child sized action figures like Iron Man and Spider-Man. When I take Andrew with me to pick up my comic books he can tell me who many of the characters are that he sees in the store. It certainly made it easier to get him to try a granola bar because it had Iron Man on it and Daddy loves Iron Man. The wrappers have six of the MARVEL super heroes on them including Captain America, Hulk, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Black Widow and Thor.

I tend to do a lot of the shopping for toys, games, snacks and more because I’m home during the week. I love that I can have those moments to connect with Andrew through activities and the things I love. He knows that I’ve met Captain America and Thor through a trip to California to meet the cast of MARVEL’sAvengers: Age of Ultron. So my son and daughter are both very knowledgeable of MARVEL and their cast of super heroes. On my last Target trip I picked up a coloring book of MARVEL’s Avengers. Andrew and I had fun coloring in that.

I mentioned that I work weekend nights. Well, I’m basically unable to go anywhere all night long to get food so I need to stock up on things that I cam enjoy through the night. I also need quick pick me up snacks through the night. I bought a bunch of extra boxes for myself to keep in my drawers just for those occasions when I need something tasty and substantial. These are substantial because they are 40% bigger (*based on weight of 24g chewy bar). It is also appropriate that these are MARVEL Chewy Granola Bars because of all the toys and action figures that I have on my desk at work.
