Review: Bling – Free on Google Play March 3 – April 10

Review Bling on Google Chromecast
Photo-A-Day #3979

Tonight we watched the movie Bling. This movie is free on Google Play from March 3 to April 10, 2016 before it goes to theaters. We tried out my new Chromecast that I got on my trip to Dad 2.0 and the YouTube Kids night at Blue Jacket Brewery. What I didn’t realize was that the Chromecast would need to be powered. Unfortunately the wire to power it was way shorter than I figured and the power plugs are on the complete opposite ends of the entertainment center and the spots for the HDMI inputs. I did attempt to plug the Chromecast into the back of the X1 box because it had an input in HDMI port however, every time it I tried to get it to work the HDMI port for the Wii U turned on. I did finally get it to work and you can see how I jerry-rigged up the Chromecast.

As for the movie Bling, it was a decent enough one. The kids enjoyed it because it had some elements that they were familiar with. I saw bits of influence from Minions, Toy Story, Kung Fu Panda and more. The story is cute with a guy named Sam who loves a girl named Sue. Sam is a big dreamer who is brilliant with machines but messes up often with big plans. He has built a bunch of robots who are his best friends. The robots act as super heroes at a theme park until they are called upon to be actual super heroes. Saving the girl of his dreams with the help of his friends and his will to make the ultimate proposal. In the end there was a lesson there and the animation was pretty decent with a good voice cast overall. I loved hearing Jay Mewes, John Heder, and Tom Green as the three primary robots. More about the movie below.
