Skylanders Imaginators is launching in less than a month and I am super excited about it. I have been a fan since the very first game and I am looking forward to being able to create my own Imaginators characters. I’m actually more excited to see what the kids come up with. Their imaginations are teeming with great ideas. So, I have gotten some news on both the game front and the TV show front. Yes, there is a Skylanders show launching October 28th on Netflix called Skylanders Academy and while I’m not thrilled that Justin Long is replacing my favorite voice actor, Josh Keaton as Spryo, I am looking forward to the show, and besides Josh is super great at being Shiro on Volton on Netflix anyway.

The other big news is that there is a Skylanders promotion between Skylanders Imaginators and the movie Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life.

Skylanders Academy: The time has finally come to see your favorite Skylanders characters on the television screen in “Skylanders Academy”! The highly anticipated, animated action adventure series launches exclusively on Netflix October 28. Based on the award-winning video game franchise from Activision Blizzard Studios, the show follows the heroic adventures of Spyro and friends as they travel the vast Skylands universe, protecting it from evil-doers. The show features a slew of talented voices including that of Ashley Tisdale, Justin Long, Parker Posey, Susan Sarandon, and of course, Richard Horvitz as the evil Kaos.

CBS’ Middle School: Skylanders Imaginators is teaming up with CBS and their upcoming box office film Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life. The live action comedy tells the tale of teenage Rafe Khatchadorian – a kid with an epic imagination…and a slight problem with authority.

Starting September 16, fans are invited to participate in the “Drawing-to-Life Contest.” Submit drawings of your ideal Skylander for a chance to win a hometown viewing party of Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life for up to 100 of their friends and family! To participate, share your drawing via Instagram using the official hashtag #SkyklandersMiddleSchoolContest.
