Disney Reads Classics: Bambi

I was given a copy of the latest Disney Reads app. It was the classic tale of Bambi. This was the Phoebe Buffay version of the story. For those who never saw the TV show Friends Phoebe Buffay’s mother always turned off movies before anything bad happened. She never knew that Bambi’s mother was killed or other hardships that Bambi faced. This app is much the same in that the story tells of Bambi’s first half hour or so of the movie. Don’t get me wrong I think it is great for little kids to enjoy the story of Bambi and have it be happy throughout, they just might be a little upset when they see the full story.

The app is very pretty. The illustrations are adorable and there is cute animation throughout. Kids can personalize the app with their photo and name to say that “This book belongs to”. I’ve said it before but I really like that touch.

Personalize your Bambi App

The app has other features as well like coloring pages, a musical mini game and a matching game. The story can be narrated, read with no narration or users can record their own voice for the story.

Additional Mini Games within the App

This is the 4th app in the Disney Classics series that joins The Aristocats, The Jungle Book and Peter Pan. “Bambi: Disney Classics” features include:

  • A rich story: Bambi learns about the wonder of nature and the power of friendship and family through an immersive digital storytelling experience.
  • Classic Disney illustrations and charming animation throughout.
  • Professional narration, music, and whimsical sound effects.
  • An interactive Coloring Book, Matching Game, and Musical Activity!

The “Bambi: Disney Classics” app is available for $3.99 for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch on the App Store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bambi-disney-classics/id535569790?mt=8

Disclosure: We were provided a copy of the app to review. Opinions about it are 100% my own.
