Welcome to September. And welcome to a brand new contest from The BenSpark and XShot!

September’s contest is sponsored by the makers of one of my favorite gadgets that lives in my camera bag. It is the XShot. Michael from XShot liked the contest from July so much that he wants to do it again. This time however, he is offering prizes for owners of the XShot. That means that if you already have an XShot you are all set but if you don’t that is okay. You can get an XShot through my special promo code of SPARK0907. The promo code gets you an XShot for $19.95 ($5.00 off the retail price).

Once you have your XShot I want you to get as creative as possible and submit photos that you have taken with the XShot. Are they with big groups of people, celebrities, or is it simply the first time you have been able to get out from behind the camera by yourself or with a friend. We are looking for creative photos using the XShot that you couldn’t take just by extending your arm or using an ordinary tripod or anything else, save a personal photographer.

With the XShot you are your own personal photographer!

To enter the contest, you must submit your contest photo and also submit a photo of yourself holding your XShot. Photos can be submitted to me at abennett96 <@> gmail com. Or you can leave a link to your photo in the comments section. You can submit as many as you would like and I will have them added to a special Flickr Gallery so you can see them all.

The most creative shot as determined by a panel of judges will win you $100.00. The second best photo is worth $75.00 and the third place photo is worth $50.00. Submit as many photos as you would like. Photos can be submitted starting September 1st through September 30th. Judging will take place and winners will be announced on Wednesday Friday October 5th. Judges will be representatives from The BenSpark (Me) as well as XShot.

XShot Contest 2: Creative Photographs from You!

Today I flew home from Minnesota. I love getting out there and visiting the Mall of America. Next time I am going to the basement aquarium.

Getting in and out of the MSP airport is also very easy. I found a great place for eating, it is called IKE’s. They make the best breakfasts in the whole airport. And they have an appetizer that I would really like to try, lobster on a stick. It is a high end type of corn dog but instead it had lobster inside. Sounds yummy.

My flights were good, see when I have good flights they are much less interesting. I caught up on more podcasts and read a photography magazine cover to cover. See, not that interesting.

I won a contest over at Gadget Girl, my new favorite Tech blog (behind Flatwater Tech of course, sorry Loretta :-) ). Loretta and Blog & Podcaster magazine gave away three subscriptions and I was one of the lucky three to have my name pulled out of the hat or however it was chosen, the tape got munched by the computer gremlins. Anyway I am very excited to receive this magazine.

And today brought the end of BenSpark’s August Add It Up Contest. And the winners were Mo, Lisa and Christine. I had 18 total contestants and 13 that were pretty active. And I had so much fun counting up all the points responding to great comments and receiving some awesome feedback on so many things.

I missed two days of photographing the sunflowers but today I caught back up on my sunflower duties. Some of the flowers are already wilted. And some have bloomed. Here are some photos.

When I went to Box Seats with Derek and Neil I used my XShot to snag this picture.

We had a really good night, eating chicken wings, talking about movies, and old stories, new stories and life in general. It was a great time with the guys.

Before we went into Box Seats Neil gave me a birthday present that he and Andrea got for me. It was an OptiMash Prime. Neil has known me since I signed a grade school yearbook Andrew “Transformer” B. And so both he and Derek were wondering if I could contain my excitement till the movie came out. I told them that I was going to be int he paper again. I had been setting up my collection for the past two days. I’m pretty much telling everyone about the movie and that I am going to see it Twice a week from tonight. Here is OptiMash Prime.
