Tonight we went to the FNAAS.org (Friends of North Attleboro Animal Shelter) appreciation dinner. My sister Tara is on the board for that organization and the dinner tonight was to thank everyone who has helped with the North Attleboro Animal Shelter. There were many organizations and companies that helped by donating door prizes and food for the evening. I contacted my friend Michael from XShot and asked him if they could donate some pocket XShots and XShot iPad 4 cases. They stepped right up to the plate and donated a bunch of them. So thank you for the donation XShot!.

Thank you XShot for the Donation to FNAAS.org

Today I went to Morin’s for the monthly meeting of the Southern New England Media Makers. the format of the event if you have never been to one, is that there is time for people to gather and discuss and network. then a roll call is taken, usually on video. After video roll is done then we either order food or have the buffet (both are great choices). then we each have a few minutes to go into what we are doing in the way of making media. Sometimes that gets recorded as well. Today I recorded everyone doing their intros. There were seven of us in attendance today including Bruce K Garber (@brucekgarber), Steve Sherlock (@shersteve), Jeff Galsson (@jeffglasson), Kyle MacNaught (@kylemacnaught), Amanda MacArthur (@amaaanda), Patrick Hughes (@eastofprov) and me (@BenSpark). Here is the video where we each talk about what we are up to.

The great thing about a group like this is the chance to exchange ideas with people who “get you”. There are some awesome ideas coming out of this group. I’m so glad I found a group like this local to me.

I also brought one of my pocket XShots with me to give away. Bruce K Garber won it with a business card blind pick.

Southern New England Media Makers 12/19/10

Have you Bought an Xshot yet?

One nice thing that I love about North Attleboro is the Downtown Association. While downtowns across America are struggling to stay alive ours continues to do something about it. We get vibrant new businesses as well as local fixtures. And we also have some great events to generate spirit like the Chocolate Lovers Stroll.

The event serves quite a few purposes. For one thing it draws people to the downtown. It gets people to discover that the downtown area has much to offer. It gives businesses downtown a day to welcome many people through their doors. It also gives people something to do for a few dollars and a couple of hours.

Allison, Eva and I went on this walk last year and we had so much fun. The same can be said about this year. The chocolates are still wonderful and we got to see many people. I even got a few photos using the Xshot.

Which is great because today is the last day to get Free Shipping from Xshot. And today I received a CD from Michael from Xshot with a video that I made a few years ago, I somehow lost it and it was no longer online, but now it has been found so if you are still unsure about the dramatic differences between taking a photo at arm’s length and taking one with an Xshot watch the video below for a good explanation.

Chocolate Lovers Stroll 2009

The Xshot 2.0 is my favorite gadget for my camera bag. I take it with me everywhere. I received my 1st Xshot, the Xshot 1.0 back in 2007. Michael from Xshot contacted me (Michael is the creator of the Xshot) and he asked me to review the Xshot vs another product that I already had. He wanted to know the good and the bad of the product. I looked it over, tested it out and told him what I thought, what I liked what I did not and how it could be improved. He listened and the Xshot 2.0 came out. I upgraded to the newest version and absolutely love having one so that I can take photos of myself with my friends and family all the time.

At this year’s IZEAFest I was given 12 Xshots by Michael from xshotpix. I was to give the Xshot to bloggers and let them know about the product. Everyone was pretty excited about it and I even saw John Chow playing with his during the sessions.
