Entertain Your Brain…

Every once in a while I come across something that is actually intelligent and not just entertaining. While checking out the web comic Questionable Content this morning I came across a link to this website by Richard Garlikov which illustrates how the Socratic method of teaching, (asking questions) can be used to teach third graders binary arithmetic. After further exploration I find that he has a whole website of Educational and Philosophical Writings. If the rest of the articles are as interesting as the Socratic Method of Teaching then you will truly entertain your brain.

  1. I am a law student and believe you me, the Socratic method is better to read about than it is to experience.

Although, to be honest, after being in classes using only the Socratic method for almost three years now, I can’t imagine any other way to teach or learn.

  2. Hey there W.O.T.L. thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I’m interested in finding out how you found the blog?

I just found the article fascinating. I myself am not a big fan of people asking me questions. So I doubt I would like the Socratic Method. 🙂

Anway, welcome and thanks for commenting.

  3. She is, in fact, one in the same.

Did you hack into my My Yahoo account to get that URL?

  4. Nope, just guessed, my inquisitive nature made me check further into the indentify of said W.O.T.L.

Pretty extensive blog I must say too.

  5. Are you kidding me, this is the most comments ever on this blog. Sad that it is just Al and I back and forth. We have e-mail for that sort of thing.
