Goodbye to the flowers

It has been 3 weeks and all of the flowers that Allison got for the birth of Eva Grace have died. They were so beautiful too. She got roses and many other various flowers and they really spruced u our bedroom. We have to keep our flowers in our bedroom or else we would need a personal florist each and every day to replenish our supply. That is because our cats enjoy nibbling on the flowers. We shut them out of the bedroom (or at least we try to) so they can’t get at the flowers.

I have found that over this past year I have come to really appreciate flowers. I photograph them for Green Thumb Sunday and I even have a few in my 2008 Photo-A-Day Calendar. I even appreciate a beautiful arrangement like the one below. This one is from ProFlowers it is called the Masterpiece Bouquet, and I love the stargazer lilies.

And I can’t believe that an arrangement that is so beautiful and has so many flowers is under $60.00. We’ve used ProFlowers to send flowers before and they have always come through with beautiful arrangements like the Masterpiece Bouquet.

  1. LOL! One of our cats eats flowers, too. VERY frustrating. I love to bring in fresh flowers from the garden, but if I do, I have to put them in the refrigerator overnight or Nicky will eat them while we sleep. Sometimes he just leaves teeth markes in them, but either way, they are destroyed. Argh!!!!

  2. This post reminds me that I never told you that I got the calendar. It’s better than I had anticipated, too. Excellent choice of photos. I wish it were 2008 now so I could use it (this year’s calendar sucks), but that would be wishing my life away. Your calendar is useful because it has room to write on it. It’s not just a pretty face.

  3. I’m glad that you like the calendar. I enjoyed making it and am glad that people are buying it. Thanks for the kind words about it. 2008 will be here soon enough.

  4. Ted,
Never heard of cats eating flowers? Really I think Garfield has been doing that bit for 80 years. Thanks for the comment.
