I am so excited to announce that I will be attending an amazing trip to California thanks to Disney, Marvel, DreamWorks & ABC Family! Yes, I will be participating in activities for each of those entities. Let me give you the rundown.

I’ll be flying out to California to stay in Los Angeles to stay three nights at the Universal Sheraton Hotel. I’ll be off and running from the moment I land till I step back on the plane to come home only to go right from the airport and back to my day, um I mean night, job and back to reality. However, for four fun filled and busy days I’m leaving reality behind and stepping into the world of movies and television.

I will be screening three movies: Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, DreamWorks’ The Hundred-Foot Journey and Disney’s Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. I’ll also get to see some footage from Disney’s animated movie Big Hero 6. Then it is off to the television side of things where I’ll get to go on a set visit for the new show Mystery Girls starring Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth. There is also something happening with another new show called Young & Hungry but I have no solid details at this time. When something does become solid I will let you know. Make sure that you follow the hashtag #ABCFamilyEvent to be in the know about the TV shows.

The trip won’t just be screening movies and visiting the set of a TV show I’m going to be doing some more exciting things like:

Attending the Guardians of the Galaxy press junket where I’ll get a chance to interview some of the cast (Who? I don’t know yet but follow the hashtag #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyEvent to be the first to know. I am so excited to see this movie because I’m not only a fan of the Marvel line of movies but the comics upon which they are based. I’m also a big fan of the 80’s and I am eager to see how the 80’s nostalgia will figure in on the character of Peter Quill, A.K.A. Star Lord, played by Chris Pratt. So far we’ve seen music in the trailers but there is more that I’ve noticed like a Garbage Pail Kids card and more. See if you can catch the 80’s references in the trailer below.

I’ll also be attending a screening for the movie The Hundred-Foot Journey with Helen Mirren, I mean starring Helen Mirren. I’d certainly love to attend the screening with her but that is not happening. What I am going to do however is get a cooking lesson at the world famous Le Cordon Bleu Los Angeles! I hope that it will be a dish that was inspired by the film. So I think that is going to mean some sort of French and Indian fusion dish. I will also be getting a chance to interview another star of the movie, actor Manish Dayal. I’m excited to see the movie, taste the food and to meet Manish. Just check out the trailer below, it looks like it will be a good movie where my stomach will rumble out of jealousy and hunger the entire time.

One of Allison’s most favorite kid’s book is Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. I think that she will be jealous that I am getting to see the movie so early. I’m looking forward to this because it is inspired by the book, but takes things in a whole different bent that looks very funny. Plus, it stars Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner so I think it will be funny. The trailer certainly looks funny.

I’m also excited to get to screen at least a small portion of the movie Big Hero 6. This is an animated Disney movie based on a Marvel title and it looks like it will be fun and exciting. I’ll also get to participate in a Q&A with the filmmakers. I am trying to find some of the comics at my local store but my comic shop owner said that when the movie was announced his back issue bins were raided by collectors who bought all of them. Here’s a little tease for the movie.

Then on to the television side of things again for two ABC Family shows. I’ll be touring the set of the new show Mystery Girls starring Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth as I mentioned. However, I failed to mention that I’m going to meet and interview both of them. I am not ashamed to admit that I watched 90210 on a regular basis as a teen and I am so excited to meet Tori and Jennie.

Mystery Girls and Young & Hungry

Like I mentioned earlier, I don’t know what I’m doing related to the show Young & Hungry. I watched the show when it premiered and I found it funny. I’d love to meet Emily Osment or anyone from the cast for that matter. Once I know, you’ll know.

That is what I know right now. I’m sure that there will be some other fun and exciting surprises in store for me and the other blogger. Yes, other bloggers, there will be 25 of us attending the event. Some folks like my friends Mitch and Zippy I’ve met before and others I am eager to meet like Enza. There is nothing like the energy of some excited engaged bloggers on a media trip like this. So stick around and make sure that you follow the hashtags of #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyEvent, #100FootJourneyEvent and #ABCFamilyEvent for more info.
