My wife sent me this article. Kayaker Raising Awareness Of Fragile Marine Sanctuary – Yahoo! News. This is a guy that is getting out there and doing something. I’d love to go with him and film him for a Wired Kayaker podcast. I wonder if I could get in touch with him to help build buzz about his cause. He’s pretty determined at 77 to make a difference and I commend that. I must learn more.

You know why you should go for it (if you can fit it in with the needs of your wife): Oct 15 is when everybody blogs about the environment. what could be more perfect?
Did I miss something in the article. It didn’t say when he was leaving on his trip, did it? I have to learn some more about this guy, he sounds fascinating.
What a novel way to spread awareness!!!the man loves kayaking and is also passionate about nature.thats a great effort put in by him.he truly deserves support for his age and passion.
Absolutely, he is pretty amazing. I hope he has a safe trip.
Awesome. I respect people so much who don’t just say they want to help things change, but actually go out and do it!
This guy seems like a real champ, he has done other paddles like this before too.
Sweet, it’s so cool to have guys like this to look up to and motivate us. We should all stop just talking about making a difference, and love in action.
You said it. Taking action rather than just talking about it. The man is inspiring.
He’s determined alright, but it’s a 3 day trip that he was gearing up for back on Aug 22, so chances are he’s done.
I must have missed that detail. Thanks for the FYI.
Wow – this dude is amazing. I met a guy called Robert Twigger who did a similar thing with a kayak, travelling across canada
Certainly a pretty cool character. I’ll have to learn a bit about that Robert Twigger.
