May Challenge 2008 #4, originally uploaded by BenSpark.

I took a small LED flashlight and put it over the car in one hand and shot the image with the other. I would do this again with a macro lens (mine was lent out to my cousin) and then put the camera on a tripod on a timer or remotely so it could be sharper.

Wow, glad to see I’m not the only one who loves using LED flashlights for photography! They come in handy especially in clubs and bars as an “in a pinch” flash, as well, especially good when all you’ve got on you is a cameraphone. Always interesting!

It’s a great shot, good stuff indeed!

    Hi Lou,
Thanks for stopping by to comment. This was my first shot with the LED flashlight as a lighting technique. While I can see where I need to improve but it was a fun thing to do. For one thing the room was fully lighted and I love how using the light made everything else very dark, it was the effect I was going for.

    Thanks.

    Chica,
I got three little LED ones for Christmas. I figured I could do something with them. I’ve enjoyed these few ones that I’ve done so far. I bet a flashlight and a Marble would be cool. I now have to get a marble for your challenge.

I’ve done the same a few times with a white projector screen for a background. Found a coffee filter over the strong LED flashlight sometimes helped. I had trouble with the little separate bulbs of the LED showing up on the background.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I will be back.

    Hey Star,
Thanks for the coffee filter idea, I’m gonna have to swipe one from work. Not a coffee drinker and all. I’ll be back by your blog as well.
