Red Sky at Night… PAD #1138
By

Today was kind of a bust. The demo ended up starting an hour and 15 minutes late because of some snafu at site. So I was to condense 4 hours to 2 hours to 45 minutes. Needless to say that didn’t go that well, even with my mad condensing skills. I’m the one you call when you want an hour demo done in 20 minutes but 4 hours in 45, well that just wasn’t happening. So after the demo I met with a person on site and discussed a second demo at a later date and exactly what they were looking to see. Thank goodness for my experience implementing the product or I would have been in bad shape.
After the demo I drove back to the airport and was massively early for my flight. I figured that there may be an earlier flight to North Carolina. I was wrong. So I went on my scheduled flight at 4:20pm which left at 5:00pm. But I did get to N.C. only 10 minutes behind schedule. I was too late to catch up with the people who were already here so I had a quick meal at Ruby Tuesday. I was going to go to P.F. Chang’s but I hate sitting at the bar, I like my own seat or table. So I walked around the mall a bit and then settled on Ruby Tuesday.
While I was at the airport I was tearing through The Last Templar by Raymond Khoury. I have to pace myself or I will have nothing to read on my next 4 flights tomorrow and Friday. I was tempted to buy Jimmy Buffett’s new book, Swine Not? and also the Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. Luckily I held off on both accounts because Allison just ordered both of them, one for fun reading and the other for her book club book.
I also did a bit of catching up on Geek Brief.tv podcasts. Other than that a pretty quiet day. I loved the sky in the mall parking lot tonight. And again did the cropping and slight editing of this one on picnik.

You definitely lead a very busy life. Not sure how you do it.
Regardless, you do seem to enjoy it and get the most out of the day!

That is a beautiful sunset!! I can’t imagine traveling as much as you do!!! The Last Templar was good and so was his other one, The Sanctuary. Hope the rest of your week goes better than today did

What a gorgeous looking sunset, it’s almost as if the sky is on fire, lovely.

Brett,
Talk about leading a busy life, I can only ope to keep up with all that you do and blog about. Wish I was in N.C. Longer and nearer to where you were I’d definitely try and catch up with you.

Flo,
I will have to pick up the Sanctuary, I like this guy’s style of writing and am enjoying the booth very much right now.

Karen,
That is what I thought as well. I was driving to the hotel and hoping that I would make it in time to catch the sunset for a photo. I hate pulling into the hotel in the dark.

Hey Drew,
Nice Fixx reference, and image.
I don’t know if you have been able to catch HIMYM, but without spoiling anything, you may be right about Barney and what we discussed in a previous post. But more of the same: new catchphrase, Robin making Canadian references, Ted being an idiot.

Mike,
Fixx reference? What is Fixx?
I missed Monday’s entire lineup. I haven’t had any time yet to catch the eps online either. I will watch and do my writeup as soon as I can. I hate being so behind. I’m pretty excited about seeing it too.

The Fixx were an 80s pop band that did a song called “Red Skies at Night.”

Oh man, I just got schooled. BTW. I just watched HIMYM online. Good ep. I told you about Barney, I could see that very early on. I wonder how they will resolve the cliffhanger next season.
