Making New Friends... PAD #1151

The last Eva photo for a little while since I am headed to San Francisco tomorrow for a demo Wednesday. I’m actually landing in San Fran and then driving up to Santa Rosa to stay the night, demo in Sebastopol the next day and then drive back down to San Fran after the demo. I’ll be staying a ways away from the airport and am getting up early on Thursday to go to Half Moon Bay to take pictures and then head back to the airport. I hope to get some really nice photos on the trip.

Tonight Allison, Eva and I went to visit our friends Marybeth and Damian. They have a little boy named Matthew and this was our first time meeting him. He and Eva hit it off and both were showing off a bit for the other. Matthew is 2 months old and Eva nearly 8 months old. I picked Matthew up and was immediately surprised at how he felt compared to Eva. I have the muscle memory of Eva’s weight and distribution that it totally threw me when I lifted Matthew. It is just strange how that happens. We had a great time and look forward to seeing everyone again.

  1. Babies interacting with one another, is so cool to watch. They can get vicious though. About that weight distribution thing, try having a newborn and a 1 1/2 year old. It’s like bricks and feathers. lol

    Have a safe trip! 🙂

  2. Chica,

We made sure that we watched them the entire time. To make sure that Eva didn’t accidentally swat Matthew. They were both pretty good. I’m sure it will get crazier with them getting older.

  3. Little Matthew is sooo cute! Whenever I pick up my little cousin, he’s 2, I have to remember he is not as heavy as my kids were at that age. They were very healthy babies. It throws me and my husband off everytime. He is so light I could hold him all day! I really love your site and will definitely check out your personal page.

  4. I totally follow you on the weight thing! My wife, daughter and I met a friend and her daughter over the week-end. And though my daughter is about 2 weeks younger she’s a much bigger baby.

I find it always weird when ever I pick up her daughter as compared to what I’m used to!

  5. Andree,
Yep, she is going to wear us out. We have a long road ahead of us, a fun one certainly but long. I’m going to have to constantly be on the lookout for boys prowling around. I better get a shotgun and a shovel so I can answer the door when they come around. 🙂

  6. Thanks 1stop,
It really threw me off when I picked Matthew up. I was just so used to carrying Eva around. I didn’t realize how much heavier she was and she is not a big heavy baby either.

  7. Hey CK,
Thanks for stopping by to comment. It certainly is a strange thing when you aren’t expecting it. I’m glad I am not the only one experiencing this.
