Photo-A-Day #1845

People often ask me if I ever find myself at 11:59pm without a photo. Do I ever run out of things to photograph. The answer is no. However, the answer should probably be, well sometimes. I have certainly never missed the day of a photo unless I’ve gone across timelines and not updated the camera time.

I suppose that if you went back through all 1845 photos you would find one or two that showed the same date. But as for not taking a photo every single day that has never happened. I will beg borrow and steal a camera just to get my shot. And other times, like tonight I will take a photo like the one above because of the idea I had in my head. That little sundae cup has been a big old temptation for me since Sunday. I keep finding myself finally looking to eat something around 9:00pm or 10:00pm at night and realizing that I should not eat a sundae that late at night. So I look in the freezer, sigh, and close the door.

If ever there was a week were I could go for a nice tidy little tasty sundae like that because of some stress, it would be this week or rather the past two put together. The Thursday before last was the day the Internet crapped out on us. That got fixed on Saturday. This past Wednesday all of my blogs were hacked. I got BenSpark.com back up quickly but many of the other blogs did not get back up that quick. I would work on them and research a little more and work on them and research. I learned so much about how to backup, move and restore databases in the past few days that a Sundae as a stress release or a reward would certainly be not unheard of, but in order to do all that work I had to spend lot of focused time on the problem. That means coming up for air at 10:00pm, way past a good time to have a sundae, especially when I should have been in bed at that time.

Because of the hack attack I was able to refocus on what I wanted to really accomplish for my blogs. I own 22 URLS. I had at one time 15 databases and 15 wordpress blogs. I whittled all my blogs down to 3: BenSpark.com, ReadToMeDad.com and ImNotAFamousBlogger.com. The other urls are still out there and if you go to them you will go to various places, mostly to specific sections of this blog.

I wrote about how you can better protect yourself from the sort of hack I suffered over at BloggingTips.com.

Oh man, that sundae is calling my name…

I’m impressed at your self control. There is no way that sundae would have made it long enough for me to find a camera! I was given a chocolate buddha that I swore was so cute I would wait to eat it. It was gone so fast, nothing zen about it. Glad I stumbled here, enjoy your treats.

      Sam,
Not eating the sundae that night was a hard task. I really wanted it but try not to eat things that late. I’m no model of good eating mind you but sometimes I do have some self control.

I think eating the Buddha was very zen. Not sure why.
