Disney's Prep & Landing "Totally Tinsel Collection"

Review: Disney’s Prep & Landing “Totally Tinsel Collection”

Disney's Prep & Landing "Totally Tinsel Collection"Almost three years have passed since the original Prep & Landing Christmas Special aired on ABC. I was so impressed with the movie that it quickly became my all time favorite Christmas related special. I loved everything about it. The characters were funny, the technology and how it was Christmas themed was smart and it was a good story. Then in 2011 a sequel to the special came out called Prep & Landing: Naughty vs Nice. This time Wayne and Lanny team up with a coal elf to stop a kid from taking their name off the naughty list and ruining Christmas. A nice follow up to the original special.

The specials featured the voice talents of Dave Foley (News Radio, Kids in the Hall, A Bug’s Life) as Wayne, Derek Richardson (Men in Trees, Anger Management) as Lanny. These two guys were the Prep and Landing team, Wayne and Lanny. Wayne had done the job for 227 years and Lanny was his new partner. Wayne thought that he was going to be promoted but got passed over and was very upset by it. The story is about their Prep & Landing mission that got a little away from them. Supporting cast members included Sarah Chalke (Scrubs, the second Becky Connor on Rosanne) as Magee who was at Mission Control and coordinated the Prep & Landing teams. She had some very funny lines. There was also a big bad reindeer named Thrasher and his scenes were pretty funny. He scared Eva when we watched the special.

The Totally Tinsel Collection came out on November 6. I just got the Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack the other day and haven’t gotten to see it on the new big TV on Blu-ray yet but I suspect it is going to be great. The animation was awesome and the story was good for both specials. I’m also not watching Christmas specials until after Thanksgiving.

Here is a preview of the special that I found on Hulu and also the link to my review of the Prep & Landing DVD that I did last year.

Here is some info about the DVD/Blu-Ray Combo Pack, which includes some fun extras.
