The Kids loving the 80s themed box from Netflix

The Bedtime Staller. The kid who comes down the stairs over and over to try and stay up just a few minutes longer. Luckily we don’t have too much trouble with the kids going to sleep, but we now have a new tool in our arsenal of stall tactic stoppers. As a member of the Netflix StreamTeam I get access to everything on Netflix plus get informed about some great things that are available for everyone to enjoy. A few months ago Netflix came out with the excellent show, DinoTrux and this month to help parents with the bedtime staller Netflix has created some Dinotrux 5 Minute Favorites. This way you can tell your child that they can watch an entire Dinotrux show before they go to bed. That show is an entire 5 minutes.

Her biggest stall is telling us that she misses Duncan. Duncan was our cat that died a few years ago. Eva was young when it happened. This past year we had to put our other cat, Oliver down. However, Duncan gets added to the nightly prayers and Oliver gets lumped in with “the kitties”. So, she will come down a couple times a week with a sad face and a listless walk and tell us how much she misses Duncan. She often wants to have a story about him and that gets her back to bed. We did have one night where she came down five times, three were for Duncan, one for water and one for a hangnail. So we just have to help her and put her back to bed.

Andrew used to be pretty good with going to sleep. His head hits the pillow and he’s out. But, lately he’s come down complaining about shadows and needing water. I think he’s going to be even tougher than his sister as a bedtime staller. I think the Dinotrux 5 Minute Favorites will come in handy for him. I am pretty sure that Andrew would be the Trickster where Eva is more of the Slow as Snails type.

Care Bears & Cousins

We have been enjoying all the great content on Netflix. Andrew even discovered Scooby Doo the other day. He requested that we watch it. I had been trying to get the kids to watch for the longest time and they weren’t interested. But Andrew seems to be expanding his viewing palate. He’s enjoying Care Bears Cousins, Popples and he’s recently discovered Zoboomafoo. I like how he’s been discovering so many fun things to watch. I like how properties of the 80’s are coming out from Netflix. We even got this cool box of fun things for the kids to coincide with the release of Care Bears Cousins and Popples. Things like scrunchies, jelly bracelets and stuffed Popples. The kids lost their minds over the Popples.

Hug it out with Care Bears Cousins

We haven’t even gotten into the great movies that are available on Netflix like Home. The kids enjoyed that in the theater and will also enjoy watching it again on Netflix.

Home

So, once we get those kids to sleep Allison and I can enjoy what Netflix has to offer us. In the past month I’ve completed watching all of Longmire and I just started watching the newly released Jessica Jones. Longmire haws been awesome and I really like the story, the actors and the fact that Netflix has picked this show up for a fifth season. There are a ton of awesome options for both kids and parents to enjoy at bedtime.
