Since the water is a bit cold for kayaking I’ll be focusing more on some tech stuff now. In my family I am the Mr. Fix-it when it comes to computers. And that is a pain in the neck. We buy these expensive computers for people who basically only want to use it to get e-mail. So, what if we could get a device that only does e-mail, that would be pretty sweet wouldn’t it? Sure. Well a new product is hitting the market and it is called Peek. Peek is a device that does e-mail only. IT is $79.95 for the product and has a monthly service for $19.95 a month. This allows you to get your e-mail anywhere.
If you are looking for a device like this, before you go an buy one, you might want to try and win a Peek from The Dirty Shirt.

No that would not be sweet.! Unless you were a senior citizen! Or some one suffering from severe disabilities. If all you want is communication from distant relatives, than I agree we can be simple. But you should realize, that it is in every bodies best interest to get on the f@#$n train, and start dealing with it.!!!

Green Freak,
Apparently my post has struck a nerve. You may have noticed a line in my comment policy how I like to build a community on my blog. While this post may not have been to your liking and the device is too simplistic for you, there are people who would benefit from having the simplicity of an e-mail only device. I have no problem with someone disagreeing with what I post, just keep things civil. The tone of your comment was not a very welcome first impression and immediately made me want to dismiss your comment altogether. You do have a point in there and I know you can write well, I’ve been to your blog, however your comment tone and wording does not reflect that.
I apologize for the previous post. I should not have been so offensive. It was just one of those venting sort of days. For my Grandmothers birthday, a bunch of us went in together and got her a similar device. The hope was that we could easily send her pictures and messages, but it is still in the box.I think that unless people are willing to dive in and understand technology, they should leave it alone. I apologize again for being rude.

Hey Green Freak,
I really appreciate that you followed up on the previous post. Because I want to build a community on my blogs I wanted to make sure that you were a legitimate person with an opinion rather than someone spamming to make some controversy. I’m the one in the family who has to do all the computer stuff and so when my grandfather got a computer I had to always be there to fix it, we sat down and wrote out step by step instructions but it is very hard to teach something new to someone who is not paying attention and who wants to do their own thing. Reducing the choices would have helped us out much much more.
Thanks very much for contributing to the conversation.
Great sharing, I never knew there is a device that only for emails. But the monthly price seems unreasonable to me

Norhafidz,
I didn’t address the monthly fee but I agree with you there. It should be much lower.
We spent hours on the phone with my father in law helping him fix his e-mail account. It was a real pain but it was the only way he would hear from the grand kids. Something simple and dedicated would have been a god sent for him.
He absolutely loved being techy when it worked! It made him feel cooool. Everyone should be able to feel this way and be able to communicate with the family. It Matters.
Lee,
I do think that this will be an item that would benefit quite a few people. Wish the monthly cost was cheaper though.
cool concept, but cant you just check your email via your phone?
Cohnsey,
Yes, you can check your mail from your phone but some people want a device that does just one thing. I for one don’t I want a device like this for the people who NEED it and can’t use the others.
