After dinner tonight Allison, Eva and I went out into the yard so I could rinse off my kayak. Eva was very interested in learning more about the kayak. She wanted to sit in it, of course she did ask after I rinsed it so she will have to wait till tomorrow. She was interested in learning more about the paddle and even wore my life jacket for a while. She carried the paddle all over the place and Allison got a great shot of her with the paddle. I took a little video of her with the paddle too and she looks like she’ll have the skills for paddling
| I wanted to get some photos of Eva with the blue flowers on the yard however I didn’t really get the shot I wanted. It was sort of flat because she was sitting in back of the little flowers and unless I was laying down on the grass I wasn’t going to get much in the way of depth. I should have sat her in front of the flowers like I ended up doing in the Photo-A-Day image. As it stands I ended up sitting Eva in front of some pink flowers to match her sweater. She was also playing with one of the little blue flowers from the front yard. I sat on the ground and then lowered the camera down so that I was shooting up at Eva to be on her level. |

Shooting lower than the child and then up at the child makes them look bigger in the photo. So, for example, if you are taking a photo of a child playing baseball get down low so they appear bigger and bolder. Kids will look at those photos of themselves and see a superstar. When you are standing above the child and take the photo shooting downward then they will appear smaller. This is fine if you want a photo of the child to look more like a child. So, think about how you would like to portray your child in photos. It is all about perspective.
Here are a few more photos from this afternoon and Eva’s video of her paddling skills.

Eva always in motion
So, all my blogs are still not back to 100%. In fact I think only BenSpark is the one working. This attack has given me pause to figure out what blogs are important to me. I decided to redirect many of my urls to specific areas of this blog. For instance, I bought Eva’s domain and I have that pointed to the post about Eva’s birth.
I also bought a bunch of benspark related domains the other day and pointed them here. I’ll explain why in another post later.
Eva and I read Barefoot Books Every Night!

Christa,
Allison took a really fun shot there. Really fun.
Awesome photos! I especially love the video. Eva is so cute and funny.
I think it’s cool that you bought Eva her own domain name. Do you plan to turn it over to her when she is old enough to have her own blog?

Christine,
Eva really was interested in the paddle. I can’t wait to taker her with us this summer.
That url will be hers when she wants it. That is why I secured it.
She’ll be kayaking along with you in no time. Hope all the sites get cleared up.
