Review and Giveaway: Knockout Boxing Gloves for Wii

I received a pair of Knockout Boxing Gloves for the Wii from CTA Digital. CTA Digital is the leader in after market peripherals for gaming systems from the Wii to the XBox 360. I saw CTA Digital at the Consumer Electronics Show this past year and they had some really fun products like the Inflatable Racing Kart for Wii and the Bowling Ball for Wii. These are really fun products that enhance the game play of the Wii. I can’t speak to the other gaming platforms because I don’t have them to use.

The Knockout Boxing Gloves for Wii were fun. They are comfortable and easy to wear. The right hand has the spot for the Wiimote and the left glove has a space for the nun-chuck controller. I originally placed the nun-chuck into the boxing glove incorrectly and had a hell of a time playing Wii Boxing. I corrected my error and all my left hand punches were much better.

These gloves are definitely a novelty. I wouldn’t say that they made gameplay more accurate, but they did make the game play a little more fun. The gloves are a novelty and are fun to use. That is what the Wii is all about, it is about having a good time and enjoyable gameplay together. I had fun using the gloves and am looking forward to boxing my next opponent. That could be You because I have a pair of these to give away.

  1. I find all lot of the wii accessory stuff to just be annoying. I think more time should be spend making good games instead of coming up with plastic tennis racquets and golf clubs that the wiimotes will fit into.

Wii is a cool concept but I don’t think it is developing as well as it should. To me the number of crappy games that try to be cute with the motion technology far outnumber the actual decent games.

Even Tony Hawk sold out with this “Ride” game. That game never even worked right but it looked really cool. Wii needs to focus on better games and less on gimmicks in my opinion.

  2. I want to try the bowling ball or the adjustable weights. Mostly the bowling ball…it’s a family favorite. Peggy cheats though. ๐Ÿ˜€
