Tonight Allison, Eva, Dan and Marcia and I went to Bru’s Room in Boynton Beach for Wings and Pings. Wings and Pings (#wingsandpings) was a tweetup event that I planned with Vanessa and Juliet of Pokengirl.com. PokenGirl was one of my sponsors for the Ultimate IZEAFest Prize Pack and tonight I picked up the pokens for the prize winners. I also got to meet Vanessa and Juliet in person. We were also joined by Dina Riccobono of MarketLeverage. Each of us had some great swag to give away to the people who attended.
Today was our last full day in Boynton Beach with Dan and Marcia. Dan had to work so we didn’t see him until he came back from work tonight when we went to the Wings and Pings Tweetup. Marcia had the day off so she spent the morning hanging at the house and then we went to the pool for an hour and a half. However, before we did that I went over to Target and picked up a few more supplies for IZEAFest. I needed to grab a few more bags for swag and some other things like snacks. After the pool I finished up my additional swag bags, got things ready for Wings and Pings and had a tasty burrito from Moe’s.
Wings and Pings was a blast. we got there early and were able to spend time with Vanessa and Juliet. We were also able to have some wings and get set up. People trickled in and at one point I had enough swag for each person. I started giving out the swag and more people arrived. So I kept a few items back and we drew business cards for winners of prizes which included BenSpark.com Swag, a Poken Pulse, and some great ML swag. Dina gave me a cute little MarketLeverage polo shirt for Eva. Pat Curry of the “I’m Not A Famous Blogger” IZEA Insider Crew attended and she even brought me The Parrot Head Handbook. This is the insert that comes with the box set of the Jimmy Buffett Collection Bars, Boats, Beaches and Ballads. It was a very sweet and thoughtful gesture. She got the first of my brand new BenSpark.com swag. Pat also has a custom Poken. she transformed her panda into a cat as she goes by Cat Purry.
Marcia and Dan took Eva home early, but not before she got a ladybug balloon animal from a balloon artist who was in another room at Bru’s. This prompted Eva to request to be read The Grouchy Ladybug (a book we are refraining from reading her because of the line “He You, Wanna Fight” that is repeated over and over) Dan and Marcia read it to her but changed the words around “Hey You Wanna Flip for It”. We knew that we had to stop reading this to her because in church one day she turned to the people behind her and asked the people “Hey You, Wanna Fight?” How Lovely.
Allison and I stuck around and met a bunch of really nice people at the event. It was really fun and we are looking forward to seeing Vanessa and Juliet again on Friday night at ICEBAR Orlando for the BenSpark.com/PokenGirl.com Karaoke Contest. We are also excited to go with Dina Riccobono to see Arabian Nights in Orlando.
