XShot Affiliate

XShotI am so thrilled to be able to tell you that I am now have affiliate links for the XShot 2.0. I am doing this through the awesome site SocialSpark. Back at IZEAFest 2008 I was given 12 XShot 2.0s to hand out to bloggers. I got one in the hands of IZEA CEO, Ted Murphy, and he is hooked on using it. If you got to his blog Ted.me you can see blog posts and videos where Ted uses the XShot 2.0 that I gave to him.

Ted and Me!

Even John Chow received one and he spotlighted it as a gadget of the week once. That was because my friend Heather brought her’s with her to a Dot Com Pho lunch meeting with John.

I’ve had an xshot for a few years now and I’ve taken hundreds of pictures with it. I’ve even used it to film video while walking, rollerblading and also in the pool. I used it to extend my reach above the heads of the crowds at Buckingham Palace to film the changing of the guards. I’ve used it to photograph myself with all my Transformers.

I’ve run multiple contests to give away the XShot or to reward photographers with money and Flickr Pro Accounts for their great pictures while using the XShot. Everywhere that I go I am asked about the XShot. I even connected a group of photographers who are going to South Africa with XShot so that they could use the product on their trip. I also consider the creator of the XShot, Michael, a good friend. He’s done right by me for so long and now I am proud to promote XShot on this blog. You can see the photos I have taken with the XShot and XShot 2.0 on Flickr.

The XShot allows you to extend the reach of your arm up to 37 inches. You can quickly attach your digital camera or digital video camera to the XShot and take photos or video of yourself and others with you. I’ve gotten large groups of people in a single shot just by using the XShot.

It is also great for me when I am on the road and want to get a photo of myself in front of something. Or to say, use it to take a photo of myself and a friend from the top of a moving double decker bus.

Hoodsie Cups
Photo-A-Day #1316

When I was a kid the one thing I really looked forward to when I went to a birthday party was whether or not there were Hoodsie Cups. I guess I got so excited over Eva’s first birthday and wanted to make sure that we had enough of them on hand that I bought a supply that has lasted us for a whole extra month. But they are so tasty.

Today was an interesting day at work. I am in a new position now and it is like I’ve changed companies completely because I have to learn a whole new dynamic. Don’t get me wrong I really like that but it is all so new and different. I am now going to be a trainer of new hires as well as an asset to existing marketing support reps. This means that I will be working one-on-one, in small groups and also in front of large groups. I have already found something that I think will make a great project and that is working with Adobe Captivate. I have some big plans for that program and it is really great because I know Adobe products very well.

I received my latest copy of Popular Photography and they are offering that if I renew for one year they will give me two Gift Subscriptions to send to friends. I’m pretty sure that means a contest is on the horizon because I would really like to offer that to someone. Two someones actually.

NBC has given the ax to freshman show My Own Worst Enemy. I’ve been watching it and I don’t hate it. It isn’t the best show out there but it is pretty decent. Then again, I am a big fan of Christian Slater. I guess I’ll have to watch Gleaming the Cube, Heathers and Pump Up The Volume to mark the passing of this show.

I installed the WordPress 2.7 Beta in an effort to fix whatever issue is happening with the indefinite loop of custom fields. They are all Blog Authors fields and I know this happened because I imported that file of old blog posts. I imported it multiple times and it created multiple versions of posts all over my blog. I went through and got rid of all of them but I think I am still going to go over each and every post with a fine toothed comb to make sure that they are all correct, and optimized for search engines.

I may spotlight some of my old posts too to bring some new life to some of the cool stuff I’ve written in the past. Going over all those posts in a quick manner today was a race back in time to 5 years ago when I started this blog. And even though I went that far back I still said to myself why didn’t I start blogging sooner.
