Awesome Ellis Paul Giveaway!

At Borders with Ellis Paul

Allison and I have been fans of Ellis Paul for years. I introduced her to his music and my sister Tara introduced me to his music and we all introduced his music to Eva. So being fans of Ellis Paul’s amazing body of work is a family affair. Because we are such fans we have been to a TON of Ellis Paul concerts. And because I have been blogging for over eight years and blog about this things I do I’ve got a ton of Ellis Paul related posts. So many so that I’ve attracted the eye of Ellis’ management.

I was sent a message yesterday about an upcoming Ellis Paul concert on February 26th at Homegrown Coffeehouse at First Parish Unitarian-Universalist in Needham, MA. Ellis’ manager asked if I would do a giveaway of 1 pair of tickets plus FIVE signed copies of Ellis’ latest album, The Day After Everything Changed. If you are unaware of everything awesome that Ellis is doing, here’s a brief bit of cool stuff.

Ellis had an AMAZING 2010 – he joined Grammy Award winning country-rock duo Sugarland’s Incredible Machine Tour for a string of dates in September. Ellis then celebrated his 20th anniversary of being a musician in July, with the mayor of Boston proclaiming it “Ellis Paul Day” on July 9th, 2010. Most recently, the Farrelly Brother’s have asked Ellis to come on board one of their movies for a 3rd time, collaborating in a broader role on the score for 2011’s Farrelly release, “Hall Pass”. Slated for a February 25th, 2011 release, “Hall Pass” stars Owen Wilson and Alyssa Milano, and will showcase up to 9 musical tracks off of Ellis’ latest album The Day After Everything Changed, as part of the movie’s score.

In terms of this year, Ellis will be anointing his 2 decades of song via his “20th Anniversary Tour” in 2011, including more dates with Sugarland.

  1. The favorite song at our house is “The Dragonfly Races” – Tara sent a copy of the CD for our girls. It’s a staple in our car CD player.

We won’t be able to go to the show (it being ~800 miles away), but we’d certainly welcome a signed CD!

  2. I think my favorite Ellis song (today) is “Once Upon a Summertime”. Or maybe “Hurricane Angel”, or maybe “Sweet Mistakes”. I can totally go!

  3. I am definitely going to be checking out this music because I have never listened to Ellis Paul. I’m downloading my free song, and listening to excerpts from some of the other ones, Rose Tattoo being one of them.

I could not make it to the concert, but I’d love a CD. I’m really enjoying what I’m hearing.

  4. My favorite Ellis song…oh gosh. Right now, I would say Maria’s Beautiful Mess. I’ve been a fan since college.
