Being Responsible: Blogs, Brews and Belly Laughs II

The photo below is from my first Blogs, Brews and Belly Laughs Event that I held at the Speed of Thought Playhouse. I had a fantastic time and have been back to the playhouse each Friday since to watch the Speed of Thought Players and to LIVE blog the shows. The Speed of Thought Players are an improv comedy group based in North Attleboro, MA. They have a playhouse/bar/lounge/cafe that is right down the street from my house. So while thinking of my next blogger event I had the perfect venue in mind. That would be the Speed of Thought Playhouse again, of course! I talked with Christian at the playhouse about doing Blogs, Brews and Belly Laughs II and he was game for it.

Blogger workstation

However, I felt that this time the event shouldn’t just be about entertainment or bloggers or even brews. I felt a responsibility to do something more. I wanted to help out someone with a cause. There are just so many great causes out there. I thought, what would be a good fit for this venue?

I immediately remembered my friend Sue, she had wanted to go to the first Blogs, Brews and Belly Laughs event but couldn’t make it. Sue is team leader for Walking 4 2nd Base, a team in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Boston. Last year I blogged about her walking in her first Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and last year all I could do was give her a small donation and blog about her cause. I want to take something that was already a good time, Blogs, Brews and Belly Laughs, and turn it into something for others beyond the joy they get from the comedy. So the idea for a fund raiser for Walking 4 2nd Base came about.

What I will be doing is working with the Speed of Thought Playhouse to put on Blogs, Brews and Belly Laughs II: Laughing it up while raising money for Walking 4 2nd Base! I created an event in Facebook called Blogs, Brews and Belly Laughs II and also a Facebook Group. I encourage all of my readers to join up with the event and the Facebook group. There are ways of helping even if you cannot attend.

Ryan and Deric and the fan club

So what is the event all about?

On April 17, 2009 BenSpark.com in collaboration with Speed of Thought Playhouse present Blogs, Brews and Belly Laughs II: Laughing it up while raising money for Walking for 2nd Base!

The first Blogs, Brews and Belly Laughs was such fun we decided to do it again. However, this time the laughter is for a cause. During the night there will be raffles for some exciting prizes like Flip video cameras, XShot camera extenders and many other prizes.

As more donations for prizes come in I will update the list.

The Speed of Thought Players

The night will begin with a meet and greet in the Speed of Thought Playhouse around 6:30pm. The cost of the event/show is $10pp. There is free wi-fi so feel free to bring a laptop or other wi-fi enabled device. There is also food available for purchase in the Comedy Cafe. During the meet and greet you will have a chance to enter BenSpark’s PhotoBooth for a chance at cool swag, and get a very special photo taken with BenSpark himself, the oh so unfamous blogger. We will also be taking donations on raffle tickets for some very cool prizes too.

Money raised from raffle tickets will go to the 2009: Avon Walk for Breast Cancer: Boston Team – Walking 4 2nd Base.

At 8:30 the Speed of Thought Players will perform their hilarious comedy improv show. Everyone is encouraged to stay for the show. Why, because the SOTPlayers Rock and raffle prizes will be given away throughout the show. Plus we want people tweeting all through the event. We encourage you to Tweet about the event during the event using the hashtags #bbbl2 and #icause. You can also bring cameras and video cameras with you to record the fun times so that you can blog about the event or add your photos to Facebook.

If you cannot make it in person please sign in to Stickam to watch the show live http://www.stickam.com/sotplive

You can also make online donations to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Team – Walking 4 2nd Base at http://tinyurl.com/walking-4-2nd-base

So come on down to the Speed of Thought Playhouse for a great time, some laughs, some brews and conversations with other people who would like to help a great cause.

Please help get the word out about the event. Tweet about the event using the hashtags #bbbl2 and #icause. I’d love to see us pack the house (and the chat room on stickam)

What if this charity or event isn’t your thing?

Maybe the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer isn’t your charity of choice, that is okay, you can still do something. Look around your neighborhoods and towns and I’m sure you can think of at least ten charities that need your help.

What do you think of bloggers helping to give back to causes? Do you think that if someone has a voice that others listen to or in this case read, then they have a responsibility to give back in some way?

You might recall that I had a post up about the event and then had to take it down. That was because of the former sponsor. Well, that sponsor totally pulled out and IZEA has stepped up to make sure that this event still happens. Way to go IZEA!!

So IZEA is now the official sponsor of Blogs, Brews and Belly Laughs II: Laughter for a Cause. I couldn’t be happier.

  1. Thanks hon,
I’m pretty excited to do this and glad that you are on board with what we would do with the money if we win the contest aspect of this.

  2. Baba,
Thanks so much, please tell all your friends to please come and leave me a comment. I hope that you enjoy the live event on stickam.

  3. Ryan,
I’m going to be there tonight too. I really love doing the live stickam thing. Plus my wife has book club at the house so I have a night free. I can hide in the back room or go out.

  4. Fabulous cause and event, Drew! Breast cancer is very close to the hearts of myself and my family, so I applaud you for helping out your friend’s walk! Good luck at your event! I cannot wait to follow along and see how it goes. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help!

  5. Lisa, Thanks. I’m really looking forward to doing this show again and I hope the crowd is even bigger than last time.

  6. Drew – you’re doing a great job with this fundraiser! I’ll be very happy to take part from afar.

Hey how about an online raffle for those of us who can’t be there in person? I’d make a donation for a chance at a Flip video camera 🙂

Heather in Beautiful BCs last blog post..I Love Twitter Contests!

  7. Betty,
Can you fly out and make some kick butt apps? That would make the party perfect. Hoffapenos! Actually I’m making them for a party at my friend’s house next weekend. I can’t wait to make them again. And thanks very much for the kind words. Have I told you lately that you are the best podcaster ever!

  8. Heather,
I’d love to do an online raffle as well. I’m not sure I can put up a flip, but maybe I will. You’ve given me a very good idea. I’m totally stealing it. Actually Market Leverage is doing an online raffle too, I wonder if I can get some additional items to give away online. Something to think about.

  9. Corrin,
I’m not sure about doing any comedy myself but I surely will be on cam early in the night talking with different people. Maybe interviewing the SOTPlayers.

  10. Ah – wish I could be there to party down. You’d be surprised how much fun this old gal could bring to a rockin night out! Good luck – hope you have a great turn-out & raise oodles of big bucks!

  11. Skeet,
It has been so long, how are you? I’m so happy that you stopped by to leave a comment. I hope you can tune in for the show on the 17th.

  12. Martha,
There are many ways to help the cause. And because it will be broadcast Live there are so many fun things that you can participate in even if you are unable to physically be there. I think a walk for a cause is a great idea. Go for it!

  13. Sounds like a really fun time. Hoping to make it, or catch it online. Nice that you are doing it for a REALLY great cause! Hope you rake in lots of cash for the cause!

  14. Denise,
I hope that you can make it to the event either online or in person, I’ll be there either way. 🙂 We still need to set up a SMSH reunion. 🙂

  15. What a great cause! Nice work, Drew.
You have so much going on – do you sleep? LOL

  16. Melissa,

I’m just doing a little bit, the walkers are the ones doing the real work. I’m just happy to help.

And no, sleep and I have not been friends for years.

  17. thats great drew! i put together fund raisers once a month for the local highschool at a restaurant down the street

  18. Kate,
Thanks very much. You might have noticed my comment policy. I don’t accept comments with keywords so I had to make a slight adjustment to your comment and put your name in. Thanks for taking the time to comment and good luck with your fundraisers.

  19. I think it’s a great idea that all bloggers should follow. I have only been blogging a short time, but I help whenever I can, especially for a cause like breast cancer.

    Babas last blog post..Cool Giveaways

  20. Baba,
That is a great attitude. I think that we can each contribute our voices, time and talent as well as money to causes no matter how small if we work together we can accomplish much.

  21. This is a great event and for a great cause! Thank you for much for your contribution to our team “Walking 4 2nd Base”…

  22. Drew,
This is an awesome cause that I am very much in favor for and I want to let you know that I support you whole heartedly! Can’t wait to hear more about this!

    Marybeth

  23. Marybeth,
I hope that you and Damian can come to the event. At least online if possible. And speaking of Damian hope you can get him to weigh in over here with some messages. too. He can set up the webcam and watch the show, but it would also be cool if you come to the event too.

  24. BellaDaddy, I find plenty of time, just love organizing events and interacting with people. Hope you can attend the show, even if just online.

  25. awesome cause, I will be there from here, on the web so good luck and talk to you then

  26. Smilieshorts,
You have been a die hard on the chat room, glad you are enjoying the show. We need to get more people watching. I’ll talk to you at the next show when I can be on all throughout the evening.

  27. I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

    Sarah

  28. Jenn,

Thanks very much. I appreciate you taking a moment to come read about the event, hope you can attend either online or in person.

  29. If I can make it to the stickam stream I will, but I’m travelling that day so may not be online. Let’s chat door prizes Monday, I think we can return the favor!

  30. Dina,
Door prizes? That would be fantastic. I’d really appreciate that. I’m sure my friends would as well.

  31. Hey, just found your little corner of the Internet on Dad-Blogs and noticed you’re from my neck of the woods. I live on the Cape now but I grew up in Norton and I used to work in the North Attleboro industrial park. Small world.

Anyways, I enjoy the blog and if I can make it to the event I’ll definitely try.

Daddy Filess last blog post..Happy Birthday MJ!

  32. Daddy Files,
Very very cool. We are so in the same areas, My family spend sthe summers on the Cape, in Falmouth, where are you on the Cape? If you can make the event either online or in person that would be awesome. I really want to get a group of bloggers together to discuss things and exchange ideas. Thanks for dropping by my blog.

  33. I definitely commented before on this, but I don’t see it now. Just in case… I am totally excited to hear about how your event goes. Obviously I think it is a wonderful cause 🙂

Lauries last blog post..Not all Skeeters bite!

  34. Laurie,
That is odd, I went back through the comments and see neither a comment nor a response. Oh well. I’m excited about this event and hope that yours does equally well.

  35. This sounds like an awesome event. I hope you get a great turnout and raise lots of money. I think we are all responsible for helping whenever we see a need. If you can have a good time while doing it, then so much the better!

What a great example you will be setting for your daughter as you do things like this.

    Annas last blog post..I Won!

  36. Anna,

It is funny that you mention Eva. Some “Experts” have said that she is too young to show empathy but I think they are wrong, Eva can sense when something is wrong and someone is upset. She is sensitive to others already. I hope that we can instill in her a sense of helping others and looking for how to do that all the time. I also hope that we have a great turnout to help my friend Sue raise a good amount of money for the cause.

  37. Drew,
Great cause! I hope you do well!!!!! A great example for your Daughter, we need more like you!!!!

  38. Susan,
Thanks very much. I appreciate you stopping over and leaving a comment. Hope you can make the event either online or in person.

  39. This is such a great idea. If I could be there I would. Even though I bat for the other team… I’m all about saving 2nd base 😉

I’m gonna have to pimp this out to my FaceBook & Twitter friends, that are a little closer to the location.

I think we should all be doing something like this in our hometowns…

  40. Evan,
I loved your comment. Please invite all your facebook friends to the event and group. Are we connected on facebook, if not we should be. I’m really happy that you’ll let your readers know about the event. I think that bloggers need to get off the internet and go talk to real people about blogging and doing so through an event such as this one is perfect! I hope you are doing well. Glad to see you back blogging. (I know I’m not that timely about this you’ve been back for a while)

  41. WeaselMomma,
I’m glad you like the idea. It is going to be a great time. It is okay that you didn’t comment but good that you came back to let me know what you thought.

  42. Drew,
It’s a great cause and a good idea. I’m 90% sure that Mike and I will be attending, but it’s my Mom’s birthday and I have no idea if there are plans to celebrate or not.

  43. Jenn,
I hope you have a nice birthday party with your mom, on another night 🙂 I hope to see you and Mike will be in attendance. That will be great.

  44. BadEvan,
I am so grateful that you went out and talked up the event. I really hope that many people decide to come and watch the show. The players are very funny and I’ll be doing some live stuff of my own as well.

  45. Val,
Thanks very much, I’m just setting it up, nothing more and I’d do on any given Friday night. Doing what I can.

  46. Hi!I think you are a great man and funny and nice to be around at partys.

  47. Heather,
Those are great choices that I can throw out to the host during Blogs, Brews and Belly Laughs II.

  48. Most definitely Go to the event even if you don’t win. I am always up for going out and my nephew has already asked if he can go again. They allow under 16 as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
Not only will Drew give you some free stuff but you could win some really cool stuff and Help a Charity

  50. Jeff,
I too hope that you can make the next BBBL event. If this goes well there will certainly be a BBBL3.

  51. I just got it! Walking For 2nd Base…that’s awesome! Good luck with your event Ben. I’m sure it’s going to be wonderful. 🙂

  52. Maharet,
Thank you for dropping over here. Yeah the name is a fun one. Laughter for a cause, right! 🙂

  53. Pamela,
You’re going to make it to the event? That is great news. The power or twitter people, the power of twitter. I’m so happy that you are coming. Thanks so much. This will be a really fun time.

  54. Ron,
I’m looking forward to hanging out with you during one of these events. Have a great time at your event. There will be more events at SOTP. We can always do an impromptu one at some point.

  55. Doing good is just great, I don’t know why you need more comments on this one, but hey… I can do you that favor 😉
As I am not having that much money right now I usually just help out by giving my change to people in the streets. Or giving a bit of money to projects where I know the people who run it.
There are many people who had bad luck these days, everybody should step up and help where he can.

  56. Smashill,
Thanks for the comment and weighing in on the topic of responsibility. I can tell that you and I would probably get along pretty well. You totally impressed me with your list post. Very creative.

  57. Drew-
I think it’s great that you’re using your blogging to raise money for charity! Good luck with your event!

  58. I think that it is a great idea. I do not know if I can make. I will let you know one way or the other. Thank you for the invite.

  59. hey drew! haven’t been to the site in a while apparently, i love “the new look and feel”!…

anywho, good luck raising money for the cancer event – i’m sure sue will appreciate. way to be responsible!

  60. That’s an awful lot of information to take in wow! Your doing a lot, and that is really admirable. I love the idea of bbb12, and feel that it could totally be extended throughout the world. More bloggers need to work together to get word out whether on charities, or issues surrounding their own community. Bloggers are talkers, they have the most honest of opinions, and if they could step away from the computer and take those opinions and put them to good use, that would be beneficial.

Your right on responsibility. If someone who can, does take the responsibility to shed light on things, then more people will become involved, and that’s just a good thing all around. That’s sort of what your doing with bbbl. I would space out the events though a little farther a part, gives more people a chance to make it. 🙂

  61. Drew,
Thanks so much “other” Drew. It is so weird when we end up on the same events together, but cool too since there aren’t many of us. I think the event will be awesome. Hope you go if you can.

  62. Chica,

    Yeah, I’m big on info.

And speaking of info what a fantastic comment about responsibility, we are on the same wavelength you and I. Wish you could make it to the event, maybe on Stickam, I think the SOTPlayer would be something you would enjoy.

  63. Hi Drew, Sorry I can’t make it that night! I think it’s great you are helping Sue meet her fundraising goals. I also love that you continue to be “responsible” by offering other charitable donation suggestions that may meet others’ interests. We need more people like you in the world. Keep up the great work!

  64. Alyssa,
Thanks very much. While sales isn’t in my future I do like Marketing events like this. 🙂 It should be a great time. Sorry you can’t make it.

  65. Amazing responses this post has gotten so far! I’ll tweet about it up through the day of the event on my account and @MarketLeverage. Does Missy Ward know about it? She supports causes like this.

  66. Dina,
Yeah the response has been great so far. I love responding to everyone who posts. I haven’t mentioned this to Missy, I’m not sure if she knows. I’ll get in touch with her. And thanks for taking up the tweeting mantle.

  67. Drew this looks like a fantastic time and people will benefit greatly from this event. My question to you is: I am working this night, will I be able to view it the next day?

  68. I think we are all personally responsible for trying to make our own lives and the lives of others better. However, when trying to make someone else’s life better, we need to be doing it for the right reason(s).

Example: I assisted with the NH Home Make Over, but my reasoning was for my own gratification. It was not say I was apart of it, it was not to get on camera, it was not show my willingness to help those who are in need. I did it to help a family in need who had been struck with horrible luck and because my situation allowed me to help. Other people I knew who took part in it, were there because they worked for the construction company. Or they were there to tell people they were on TV. Some were actively trying to get on TV, I was actively trying to stay off the TV. There were even people, far fewer, that wanted roles of importance. Why? Ego I assume, but you know what assuming does…it makes an ass out of u and me. I do believe that a lot of people were there to help a family in need however with no other agenda.

So when I think about responsibility, I do an internal gut check first, to answer a simple question…why am I undertaking this action? Is it for self-worth? Is it for notoriety? Is it because I want to? Am I being told I should do this? etc. etc. etc. If my answers are not I personally want to do this and I am not seeking gratitude from those I am helping, then it is responsibility. If my answers are anything different, I do not view it as being responsible. I view it as doing a job or task, a worthwhile job or task, but a job or task nonetheless.

  69. Laura,

If you start today you can be here for the weekend. 🙂 Hope you can catch us online, it is earlier in Denver.

  70. Hey there Anonymous Commentor,
(I don’t usually allow anonymous comments but yours was so interesting I made an exception.)

Of the majority of comments about responsibility yours hits on some major issues. I’m going to highlight this comment in the post as it is one that asks some great questions and I think that people might be served well to answer them.

I can see how you make the distinction between responsibility and doing a task. That is an important distinction.

Thanks for taking the time to add to the conversation.

  71. Cool. This reminds me, is Allison doing the 3-day walk for life? I was thinking of doing it in SD. Anyway, is there an address where this event is going on? That way I can post the details.

  72. Carissa,
You can post this link and that will give all the details because it details the event as well as how to go to the facebook group and events. Allison is not doing the three day this year. You should go for it.

  73. Hi Drew,
Looking forward to Friday night. Thank you to all for supporting Walking 4 2nd Base!

  74. Tim,
Thanks so much for stepping up to the plate and making a donation. You’re awesome! Also I love your random items, this will be great for the Speed of Thought Players to use in the show!

  75. Milcah,
Thanks for the tweet and the follow. I also like your suggestions. Welcome to my blog since this is your 1st time commenting here. Hope you come back again.

  76. Mo,
That is the thing about IZEA, they are awesome! They really step up when the chips are down. I think they will really like your place suggestion too.

Also Dina from ML is awesome, just awesome!

  77. I’m going to be away that evening, in my grandmother’s house w/o reliable internet. So I’m a bit bummed I probably can’t watch. But, here are some randoms: Al Roker, under a car, garden hoe (I used to love doing improv games in drama club in high school).

As for your original question about bloggers and causes, I just have to say I am very proud of you for putting yourself, your brand, and your blog out there for such a great cause. It is obvious you are very passionate about all of this and I really hope you have an excellent turn out and are able to raise money for 2nd base.

I think if you are passionate about a cause, then you have a responsibility to help out. If someone comes to me and asks me to promote something I’m not really interested in, then I know it won’t be passionate and probably not very helpful. The responsibility comes in being true to yourself and not fake about what you believe in.

  78. Alli,
Thanks so much for entering the contest and the kind words about me and my blog. I hope that the internet works for you, bring headphones is all I’m saying.

I found that bringing a few things together that I really like would be beneficial for all involved. I love comedy, I want to see the comedy club survive and I want to help my friend and her cause, that is where the passion lies.

  79. Lenny,
Should I bring a BluFrog for him? LOL
If you are going to attend you have more shots at winning more stuff like an Xshot, and a Flip Ultra.

  80. IZEA is awesome to step in this way, Drew! Actually IZEA is awesome in every thing they do 🙂

Where in this world would we be without Douglas Adams and the good old towls 🙂

  83. Hey Drew, I made a small donation to the Walk4SecondBase just in case I my company arrives early tomorrow afternoon! I didn’t want to miss out on 26 TWENTY SIX entries to win the ipod!!!

I will do my best to be there though! Best wishes for a very successful event.

  84. Thank you those who have contributed!! I picked up a gift certificate from Box Seats in North Attleboro to raffle off tomorrow night!

  85. Connie,
Thanks so much for the good Kharma. That was wonderful. I’m really hoping that this event goes really well. It should be tons of fun.

  86. Hi Geo Peter,

Thanks very much for entering my contest. You have some great choices for the improv show. And welcome to my blog.

  87. Heather,
You’re a good competitor in these contests. Thanks so much for the donation too. I’ve got your 26 entries for sure. Spread the word.

  88. Sue,
So glad we got another donation. That is excellent. Now we just have to get more people talking about this event on this post.

  89. SmilieShorts,
I’m not sure why that would happen. I wonder if it was browser specific or something like that.

  90. I don’t know why it is happening either but after the second time I stopped because I can’t afford it if it decides to go through.

  91. SmilieShorts,
Gotcha. Thanks for trying though. Give it a day and see if it went through. Clear cookies and try again if you want tomorrow. Suggestions? Not sure.

  92. Thanks AnnMarie,
I hope that all goes well tomorrow night and we do a great job raising funds for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

  93. Autumn,
Fantastic! Please tell all of your friends about the event and I’d love it if they would come and check out the comments and add their suggestions for the SOTPlayers too.

Thanks very much for entering the contest and the donation. That is awesome! Great suggestions too!

  96. God bless you sir and you have set an example for us to be one. Thanks for teaching us a lesson and i would definetly follow one.

  97. suwari,
Good suggestions although sometimes they go right to the toilet humor so they don’t need any help getting there. LOL 🙂

  98. Rebecca,
We could use Eminem and YouTube as options, good suggestions. I didn’t even realize Eminem was even still around.

  99. Hey Drew!

What a wonderful idea for such a great cause! It sounds like tonight is going to be a lot of fun, I wish I could make it. Good luck and have a blast!

  100. Cristen,
Thanks so much. Too bad that you can’t make it. You can watch the comedy and my stickam show after the event though. I appreciate you dropping by the blog with a message of encouragement.

  101. Hey…Tastefully Simple products for tonight donated by me! 🙂

  102. Wendy,
Thanks for the donations. That is great. I see you sent me a generic TS link, do you have an affiliate link that you could send me so that when I write up my thank you post I can link directly to your page. Also I put your link on your name in the comment. Are you going to the show?

  103. I am here with drew . we are holding back the crowd. Hurry in before their is no room left . Just kidding we can always squeeze in a few more for charity

  104. Amy,
Thanks very much for entering the contest, we are having a great time here. Good luck in the contest.

  105. Wow! It sounds like there is a lot of fun here. 🙂
I’m not done reading though… I’ll have to read all over again…

  106. had a blast tonight! I facebooked and joined the group. I still cant get my credit card to work to donate, sorry.

  107. me thinks I should win the ipod touch because the 29th is my birthday, it would be a great birthday present 🙂

  108. April,
That is quite alright, I know you tried like crazy, thanks for all the great support! I guess you can hope as hard as possible to win that iPod Touch. There will be more ways to enter soon. Yes, more ways to win.

  109. Good Lindsay I am glad. Thanks again. The show was great and we raised $450 for Sue both online and through the raffle.

  110. Dads need to look out for the Moms and other women in the lives of our kids. I think its great that you’re getting so involved in the charitable event. Good for you!

  111. Thanks ProActiveDad,
It agree with you, we should be in there and getting involved with the family and charitable events.

  112. You can’t change the world, but you can make a difference and a change in people’s lives

  113. “Blogs, Brews and Belly Laughes TWO”?!? WHEN WAS THE FIRST! I FEEL SO LEFT OUT! Do I have to know the storyline from the first to understand the plot of the second, like “Legally Blond” and “Legally Blond 2: Red, White and Blond”?

  114. This is great! I was looking at the blog and noticed I actually know one of the actors!

  115. go Sue!! best of luck to you and your team who are walking in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

  116. Sue, I really enjoyed myself at your open house! And for such a great cause!!!

  117. Good luck Sue and team on your walk. May you have lovely weather and good company along the way. All the best!
    Denise B.

  118. More support coming from Dublin ALLLLL the way over to those of you working so hard to Walk for a Cure! Good luck!!!

    Liz McG

  119. I think everyone else should drop out so I can win this for a birthday gift! JK but I would really love to win, gl to everyone who has entered, and again Sue, fantastic job!

  120. If you are one who can’t participate in the walk you can still be supportive by show up and cheering on the walkers and perhaps handing out drinks. Every little bit of support helps. And tell everyone about the cause. I loved the event at BBBLII. It was so much fun. I really enjoyed the female comedian. She was so funny.

Babas last blog post..I Must Be Doing Something Right

  121. Sue W. I just wanted to wish you and your team good luck on your Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. 40 Miles in 2 days is a great accomplishment for an excellent cause!

  122. Sue I wanted to wish you luck on your walk. It is really great what you are doing. Sure commedians are funny and we all want to have a good time but Cancer there is nothing funny about cancer. I wish you all the best.

  123. Yes he can! To be serious I know Drew is trying to get more comments on this post to win additonal money for a great cause. I could sit her and comment all day I think I got 4 in 5 mins but that is kind of lame.

I am not going to do that instead I am going to make far better use of my time and go find Sue’s pledge page and pledge some of my money. It is great to win things but they should be based on merit and not how often you can get a dog to with comments on a blog post. So I am done I am off to actually help the cause.

    Stephen

  124. Great job Drew. SOTP looks like a great place. Someday – Jeff and I will have to get there.

  125. Corrine,
SOTP is certainly Jeff’s sort of place, at least the humor certainly is. I think you guys would like the shows.

  126. Drew,

This is such a great cause- so awesome that you are doing so much for it! Good luck to Sue’s team!

    Marybeth

  127. Congrats on the fundraising. I’m so sorry I couldn’t make it – I had a sick dog at home that night.

  128. how many comments are you looking for?

How do I get people to donate to my cause without being pushy? You did such a fantastic job!

  129. I didn’t realize tonight was the end, so here is another comment. I hope it helps.

  130. stopping to leave another comment, I really do hope that you reach your goal. What time tonight does it end? I stay up late so I can leave comments all night long 🙂

  131. ok, so I have until 11:59 to get both posts up as high as I can, I think I can do this 🙂

I just sent a bulletin out to my friends on myspace to donate to ACS and RFL for me, I hope it helps.

  132. one of these days I am going to get to be there in person and I am going to have a blast. I still have a lot of fun online though and glad I get to at least do that.

  133. I am already looking forward to making the trek to be there next year… for the first time. Plus, you have me publicly saying that I will be there and I will donate a “prize”… well you have me saying publicly now 😉

  134. I need to figure out when I can make it and how I can make it out there, but one of these days it will happen.

Look you are really close to 300!

  135. this is number 300!!! I am going to focus on the other post now, but may stop to say hi to this one again just so it doesn’t get lonely!

  137. hopefully you guys win, it would be awesome!

I don’t know how much to tell you guys that you rock!

  138. I guess I will answer my own question.

I think I would, maybe for a game or two. I think it would be a lot of fun, though I know that it is a lot of hard work.

  139. I am looking forward to getting another Blogs, Beers, and Bellylaughs event going at the SOTPlayhouse Cafe soon!
