Happy Mother’s Day from Disney•Pixar’s “Brave”

This movie is looking very much like it will be a breakout family movie from Disney•Pixar. The characters are fun and I like how there is a relationship with both parents that is special in its own way.

About Brave

Set in the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland, Disney•Pixar’s “Brave” follows the heroic journey of Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald), a skilled archer and headstrong daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to change her fate, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the unruly and uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) andcantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane), unleashing chaos in the kingdom. When she turns to an eccentric Witch (voice of Julie Walters), she is granted an ill-fated wish and the ensuing peril forces Merida to harness all of her resources—including her mischievous triplet brothers—to undo a beastly curse and discover the meaning of true bravery. Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman, and produced by Katherine Sarafian, “Brave” is a grand adventure full of heart, memorable characters and signature Pixar humor. Opens on June 22, 2012, in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.

App Review: Peter Pan Storybook Classics App

Image from the Peter Pan Classic Storybook App from Disney

Eva and I received a copy of this Peter Pan Disney Classics Storybook App to review on the iPad. The first thing I noticed when I opened the app was that you could personalize it for your child with their photo and their name. That is a great little feature especially the ability to put in the photo. Eva liked that a lot. You can choose from an existing photo or take one through the app.

The storybook is beautiful with original illustrations. These are very much like paintings and have such a great classic feel to them. the narration is well done and each page has interactivity in that you child can click on any character and hear their name and see the word for that name come up. There are also options along the way to stop and color a picture. Continue reading App Review: Peter Pan Storybook Classics App
