Columbus Day sales…

Columbus Day and Labor day are usually the end of the season when kayak shops want to get rid of their summer fleet of boats. You can really get yourself a good deal on a used boat if you take a look for one this weekend. Remember that kayaks are dang near indestructible and they still work fine with a nick here or a scratch there. Secondhand boats are where it is at when it comes to frugal paddling.

My friend Kim at Cape Cod Kayak is having a used boat and a clearance sale right now. You can get yourself a great deal from her. All of her used and fleet boats are taken well care of throughout the summer. Check out what she has on sale.

  1. I’ve been looking around for a fishing kayak for a while now. The problem is that I’m way over here in San Diego so I guess I’m not going to be able to stop by Cape Cod!

I’m waiting until Black Friday to see if any deals might spring up. Eventually I may just have to get one on Craigs List.

  2. Keep looking, check message boards and try paddling.net, I bet you can find a good used one online.
