Contemplating Going Home

Contemplating Going Home

We left the Cape today. It is always tough leaving because I have to come home and sleep before work. What time do we leave, is there anything we can do before we go. Did we do everything we wanted while we were there? there never seems to be enough time for everything. We hung out on the porch this morning. Something we tend to do most mornings while we are there. The day after the 4th of July is one where we hear all the scuttlebutt from the night before. Apparently there were a couple of large brawls on the ball field last night because people could not see the fireworks. That is so crazy to me. But, with so many people packed into such a small space, and you add to that drinking all day and a bubbling anger that is so prevalent everywhere, it is a recipe for bad things to happen. It is a reason that I am not a fan of crowds. There is always a potential for some knucklehead to want to cause havoc. I hope that no one got hurt, especially not some innocent bystander.

Watching Eva I think that leaving the Cape is hardest for her. She loves being there and spending time with my mom. She loves the beach and being creative. Of all the pictures I took of her on the porch like this she looked the least pensive in this one. But in only a couple of weeks she’ll be back for much of the rest of the Summer. I know she is excited about that.
