Dusty and Jaws

Photo-A-Day #1927

Allison, Eva and I went to a birthday party today. At the home where the party was taking place there is a large Koi pond. Within that pond there are many Koi and the largest is named Jaws. Flying above the pond was this dragonfly that we called Dusty, every dragonfly is named Dusty because of Ellis Paul’s album The Dragonfly races. I got as close as I could and had to use manual focus to snap this one but I think it came out pretty good.

We started the morning off with early church and then breakfast at the Town Restaurant with Uncle Mike. Eva got so excited in Mass when she saw Uncle Mike. She loves him. He love her too and he gets to be a big kid around her. We had a nice breakfast and then it was time to drive to NH for the birthday party for Allison’s friend Lindsay’s son. It was a first birthday party and it was nice to See Lindsay and Dave to celebrate their son’s birthday. Eva was excited to go too because birthday’s mean cake and she love having a little cake and ice cream. She and I split a piece as well as some M&M-ies.

The best part for me was being able to play in the pool with Eva. She loves the water and there was a beautiful above ground pool for us to play in. There were some other kids and Eva made friends with a little girl who is a few years older than her. Eva also got to play on a giant inflatable shark and a giant inflatable turtle. She was riding on the shark (with me holding on the whole time) and she leaned to one side and fell off, just enough to get a little splash. She was done with the shark. She then tried the turtle and it was much more stable. She had so much fun playing on the toys but didn’t really want to do much in the way of swimming. That is okay, she does her swimming lessons once a week and does real well at them. Here she is on the Giant Turtle. I didn’t have the camera with me when she was on the shark.

We drove home and enjoyed the rest of the steak tips that we made the other night. We’re working on perfecting the buffalo steak tips recipe and hope it will be a great contender in the family steak tip cook-off.

Allison also drove so that I could do some work on the Roger Williams Paddle Video. Hopefully I will get that one up soon.
