Fitzy the Elf on the Shelf

Photo-A-Day #2069

Last year we got an Elf on the Shelf right after Christmas but this year we got to start using it. We took it out on Sunday night and introduced Eva to the elf. We asked Eva what we should name the elf and she didn’t have a name so I started suggesting them to her. She picked the second one I said which was Fitzy. She liked that one a lot.

If you are unaware of what an The Elf on the Shelf (aff link) is let me explain a bit. The Elf is one of Santa’s Scouts. Hi job is to watch if the kids are behaving and then fly to the North Pole every night and report to Santa if the child is behaving or not. Then the elf comes back and hides in a new place every day. The child gets up and discovers that the elf has returned. Eva seems to really be enjoying it.

Here is a very fun behind the scenes training video. I laughed out loud when the elves get to the gym. You’ll see…

  1. A friend of mine named theirs Ketchup…I found it hilarious:) I love this thing…such a cute idea! My poor little cousin just got freaked out by hers last year. She couldn’t get past the idea of the little bugger moving around at night while she was trying to sleep. Her little sister tried to explain to her that it was a good thing-but she just wasn’t having it! I love that Eva is enjoying it!

    1. Mo,

Ketchup is a great name! And I can’t help laughing a little bit at the crazy thoughts of kids. Although I can understand the creepy factor. The Buffy Ep from season 1 with the dummy was by far one of the creepiest I ever saw.

      1. I have never seen that…and it’s probably better that I don’t. I’m not ok with things like that…especially if it’s creepy. I had nightmares for weeks after watching Labrynth…I had a really hard time even getting used to Dobby in HP!! Ha!

        1. Mo,

I really have to watch Labyrinth again. I remember watching that many times as a kid. Also I had a thing for Jennifer Connelly.
