It’s in the Mighty Hands of Steel

Photo-A-Day #1827

Today is my 36th birthday and I am still a Toys ‘R Us Kid as you can tell. I still collect Transformers and for my birthday I ordered some special Transformers from Japan with my birthday money form my parents. I also got the complete G1 set of cartoons for from Allison’s parents. And once the new Transformers The War for Cybertron (or rather The Cybertron Adventure on the Wii) comes out I’m getting that as a birthday gift to myself. I am still a huge fan. Oh and the title is from Stan Bush’s “The Touch”.

Today’s Photo is actually a composite of three photos as well as some photo editing. I made it as my submission to this month’s ShutterCal contest. ShutterCal has partnered with Wacom to give away a Wacom Bamboo Craft Tablet. Entries into the contest is of something with creatively added elements. While at the office today I shot the photo of Optimus Prime. I them took a photo of myself for the eyes as well as a photo of my Transformers G1 DVD box. I combined the photos and then added a lens flare to the Matrix as well as a render of difference clouds. around the background. I’m pretty sure if I had the Wacom Bamboo tablet I’d have been able to make the edge around Optimus much more refined.

I had a nice birthday. I went to the office in the morning and worked out. Got a phone call and birthday wishes from Allison and Eva. I got some tasty cupcakes from one of my coworkers who also shares the same birthday. We celebrate our birthdays with some special treats. I put down funfetti cupcakes for mine and Beth made them from scratch for me with some very tasty whipped cream frosting. For Beth’s birthday treat she wanted fruit and chocolate and ended up getting chocolate dipped strawberries and cherries.

When I got home Allison and Eva were working on dessert for my birthday. They had a busy day including a play date with my Aunt Corrine and her daughters. The kids decorated cupcakes that Allison made from scratch. The cupcakes were tasty and made from applesauce and egg whites with a cream cheese and vanilla frosting. The decorations were eclectic and cute. The kids had fun.

Tonight Allison made Buffalo Chicken Pizza and salad from scratch including the pizza dough. It was a nice birthday.
