Kuroba Cubes

Review: A New Twist on “Rock, Paper, Scissors” – Kuroba!!

The Match Up!

Kuroba are a whole new spin on Rock Paper Scissors. We received a few of the toys from PlayMates Toys to review for free. This is our honest review.

When we went to Sweet suite Eva had a great time playing with the Kuroba at the PlayMates Toys table. These little cubes were a way to play Rock Paper Scissors without revealing what was in your hand until the moment when one cube wrapped itself around the other. It is a fun take on this old classic. The Kuroba cubes can be customized to reflect the style of your child. they can do this by mixing and matching the tiles on the outside of the cubes. There are 16 different ones to collect. Eva shows you the ones that we received in the video below.

One of the items that we received was the Kuroba Training Pack
The Kuroba Training Pack lets kids practice their Kuroba battle skills. The pack includes 1 transforming creature, 1 practice cube and 1 creature gem.
To perfect their skills, kids simply follow these steps:

  • Select battle mode — Remove the face plate on the Kuroba creature and move the tab to select Rock, Paper or Scissors. Then snap the face plate back into place.
  • Fold up the Kuroba and lock into place for battle. Place the Kuroba creature and the practice cube on a table with the “K” logo facing up on each cube.
  • Slide the two cubes towards each other and watch as the winning Kuroba pops open and captures the practice cube inside.
  • Recommended Age: 6+
  • Availability: Currently available at Target, Amazon and Walmart
  • MSRP: $8.99 each

Set Your Kuroba

You set your battle mode to rock, paper or scissors and then replace the Kuroba character face to keep this selection secret.

We also received a Kuroba Battle Pack. With the Kuroba Battle Pack, kids can bring their Kuroba head-to-head by sliding them towards each other in battle and seeing which Kuroba creature is the winner! To play, kids just follow these steps:

  • Select battle mode — Remove the face plate on each Kuroba creature and move the tab to select Rock, Paper or Scissors. Then snap the face plate back into place.
