Last Day of the Mini Berkshires Vacation

Photo-A-Day #3051

Our last day at the Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort was a leisurely one. Allison and Andrew slept late. Andrew was up half the night and ended up sleeping in our bed thus creating an “H” formation. Luckily it was a king-sized bed. Eva got up at 6:30 and came in and woke me so that I could watch TV with her. I was pretty exhausted so I went out and ended up turning the TV on for her and falling back asleep in the pull-out couch.

When we all woke up and got moving I made a run to the country store to get egg sandwiches, bagels and muffins for our breakfast. The country store there doubles as the post office for the town of Hancock. It has a nice feel to it and the prices for breakfast aren’t too insane, either.

We packed up and loaded into the Cadillac XTS for our ride home. A few hours and many miles ahead of us. We were looking forward to the ride and yet sad because our very nice vacation had to end. We truly had a great time together on this trip. It made me think of some of the trips that I had gone on with my parents as a kid. I hope that Eva and Andrew have fond memories of the trips, too.

We got home and regrouped before we had to head out to the rehearsal dinner for my cousin’s East Coast wedding, which is a renewal of vows. I’m actually the officiant of the ceremony and I’m looking forward to this. I was nervous but did a decent job of it in the run through. We’ll see how the real thing goes on Sunday.
