Looking Back, Looking Ahead

Photo-A-Day #1728

2009 is over and it is a time when people are looking back over their year and looking ahead to 2010. Predictions are being made and so are resolutions. I’m doing neither. At least not publicly at this time. Also for me the new year starts April 9. That is my birthday. This year I will turn 36. I’ll be closer to 40 than 30 and that is something I am looking at with a mild case of trepidation. But I’m also looking at this coming year with a lot of excitement.

The coming year already holds for me a chance to shine. I hang back much of the time but in 2010 I’m getting out there on the stage starting with Affiliate Summit West. There I will be sharing the stage with some fantastic people Kris Jones (@pepperjamceo) of Pepperjam, John Carcutt (@JohnCarcutt), Tim Jones (@TheRealTimJones) and a real famous blogger Murray Newlands (@MurrayNewlands). We will be talking about the importance of blogging for the affiliate marketer. And I certainly hope that this will not be my last speaking engagement of 2010.

2010 kicks off my year as official guest blogger for Shuttercal. I’ll be posting about photography tips for everyone to benefit from. I’ll also be receiving a review copy of their fantastic product, the shoebox. The concept is amazing, you take photos all month and at the end of the month you get these beautiful professional cards sent to you with your photo on the front and caption on the back. So at the end of the year you have such a unique keepsake. Imagine being a parent with a new child. If you took a photo a day of that child then you would have such an amazing treasure to keep forever.

There will much more focus on Photography here on this blog. Also photo related contests. I have 4 mini phototrackrs to give away. I can’t wait to demonstrate this for you guys. One of my favorite pieces of technology that goes in my bag.

2010 I will be doing at least two monthly newsletters. Behind the Lens for people on this blog who want to know much more about me and photography. The other is the “I’m Not A Famous Blogger” Crew Newsletter. This will be a series of tips and answers to questions for my IZEA Insider crew. Technically my tenure with this ends tonight but I’m going to continue to help those who want to learn how to make the most out of IZEA properties. People on my crew also get exclusive free access to my brand new Prfessor course, Personal Branding 101, launching soon with more courses to follow.

What are YOU doing in 2010!
What are YOU going to do this year!
