Missed this Kiddo

Photo-A-Day #1748

We just came back from Las Vegas. It was our first trip without Eva since she was born. I’ve been on trips without Allison or Eva but this time was different. While we had a great time on the trip it was great to be home with her.

While we were gone it seems like Eva got even smarter and more grown up. I know that parent’s always say that but she is asking questions on the phone that were full on questions, we had a conversation. Later on, when I got home Allison and Eva were on the floor “resting”. Eva told me to come rest too and she would cover me up with the blanket.

She also picked up a bunch of new phrases and some are hilarious. I took her downstairs to visit Memere and Pep (she now calls my Dad, Pepe or Pep and thinks it is the funniest thing ever.) As we open the door Eva shouts to my mom, “Memere, are you feeling better?” Memere says yes and Eva follows up with “How about Grandfather, is he feeling better?” I kid you not, at two she is having full on conversations that she is engaging them too. It blows my mind and makes me so proud to be her Dadda.

  1. I’m so happy you had a great time…I’m sure seeing Eva was just what you needed though:) Welcome home!!!

    1. Mo,
Thank you. It was fantastic to see Eva, simply fantastic. Such a great feeling to be home to see her. Even if she woke up at 3:00am and I am still exhausted from way before going to Las Vegas. But waking up to go to work seeing my girls sleeping so soundly is wonderful, even if I am just a little bit jealous of their slumber.

  2. I’m sure that Eva’ s auntie Tara and auntie Shelby will take credit for any thing that Eva may have learned while you were away. She is growing up fast and does one heck of a sense of humor. I hope she keeps that sense of humor as she grows up. Good to have you and Allison back.

    1. Thanks Dad,
She does have a great sense of humor and I think that she’ll keep it as long as we continue to keep laughter and fun in her life, which includes her whole family of funny people. Everyone in their own way. Glad to be home.

  3. I am sure you really missed her. She is such a cutie. It seems when you are away you miss out on things doesn’t it? They grow so fast and learn things so quickly. Glad you had a great time and all went well. It had to be hard on Allison to be away from Eva. The first time is always tough.

    1. Deborah,
Thank you. We managed very well to be okay with being away. Sure it was tough but we did okay. IT is hard to leave this kid, she must have missed us because she was up with us at 3:00am last night/this morning.
