New Year’s Eve 2015

Photo-A-Day #3917

Our Netflix Shot

This New Year’s Eve we settled in for a home-bound evening. That was much later in the day. Before we got to our New Year’s Eve celebration we had a day where we did a bunch of things. Eva went for a playdate over to my Aunt Donna’s house to play with cousin Logan. Andrew and I ran a bunch of bags of clothes and some toys to my sister Shelby’s house. I took Andrew so that he could play with his cousins. The boys had so much fun together. The enjoy roughhousing with each other and then with me as well. We wrestled and goofed around. We played Play-Doh and watched Dinosaur Train. The boys had a nice time. And also when everyone was out of the house Allison had time to do some major cleaning to our bedroom and more. It was some impressive reorganization.

Cousins Hanging Out Together

The boys did climb into my brother-in-law’s chair and they were sitting very nicely together so I had to go and get my phone to take some shots of them. As soon as I got the phone however they were not very helpful in getting a cute photo but I managed to get the one above.

Andrew and I drove home, stopped off at a Target halfway because he was still awake, so I could check for new Hot Wheels. I ran into a guy from work. We stopped to talk for a few minutes and then went the Hot Wheels aisle. As I turned the corner I saw a woman holding the exact car that I came looking for. Oh that was tough. I wanted to get mad. However, Andrew took that for me. He was very upset that I wouldn’t get him everything that he pointed out. He wasn’t satisfied with getting a Matchbox or Hot Wheels car. I got a few because there were a bunch of ones that were on clearance and the Target Cartwheel app put an extra 15% off on clearance toys. So I got six cars for little over $2.00. So, it worked out a bit.

Apps for New Year's Eve!

When we got home Allison and I made bacon wrapped Club Crackers with Brown Sugar. Bacon cookies. A co-worker made these at work and they were really tasty, so I wanted to make them myself and add cayenne pepper to them. So we made those and then when Eva came home we put in all the apps for our dinner. We had everything from wings to mozzarella sticks and even fried pickles. We had a ton of food but we were smart about it. We portioned out for all of us and saved some for later.

The Kids Posing with Christmas items.

Being home we decided that we would play some board games and then watch some of the Netflix fake countdowns for kids. We played Scrabble Jr. together. We could have played on the side that had words on it but what fun would that be. It was interesting playing this with a 4 year old who doesn’t spell and an 8 year old who knows how to spell some things but not entirely well. Eva also wanted to save tiles for later. It was fun to play together and then we did dance party and the kids posed with some silly photo props.

Netflix in 2016

We had no specific plans as to when the kids were going to go to bed but we knew that when they did we’d watch a bunch of the Netflix fake ball drops. The kids loved them, they were cute. So we put the kids to bed and came back downstairs. I read some comic from my Marvel Unlimited app and Allison was watching New Year’s Rocking Eve. When I finished I suggested that we go upstairs and watch something there since we were both fading. We didn’t even turn on the TV and were both asleep by 10:15pm. Big party people.
