On a Bug Hunt with Zuru X Shot Bug Attack Blasters

Photo-A-Day #3891

Eva with some new X-SHOT Bug Attack toys.

We received a great package of Zuru Bug Attack toys including the Bug Attack Rapid Fire and Bug Attack Eliminator in a special 2 pack with five of the Creepeez Wall Crawling Bugs and in addition to that we also got a two pack of “Creepeez Wall Crawling Bugs and the Bug Attack Bow and Arrow set with two Creepeez Wall Crawling Bugs and a set of 30 extra darts. I was so excited to get this a couple of months ago and then was trying to find a good place in the house to use them but didn’t. So as with some things my house these got buried in my office when we tried to get Eva’s room cleaned up by moving all of her junk into my office. Well, I found them and Eva and I had a crazy fun Bug hunt in her practically empty room. As with all reviews on BenSpark.com the opinions are 100% our own. Read on to see what fun we had.

Eva with the Bug Attack Rapid Fire and the Bug Attack Eliminator

First I opened the special two-pack of blasters with five of the Creepeez Wall Crawling Bugs. These were very cool. They have a bunch of sticky feet and will crawl down your walls very much like those wall crawling octopuses from my childhood. I found that if we got any on the ceiling they stuck and stayed there. I had to lift Eva up to pull them down. But the Creepeez Wall Crawling Bugs worked great on the slanted ceilings in Eva’s room. There is no way we could have played with these a couple of weeks ago considering the huge mess her room was.

Eva with the Bug Attack Eliminator

I like the Bug Attack Rapid Fire because you can load it up and shoot 6 bugs quickly. I found that I could aim it well and the darts came out with decent power. They are soft tipped foam and won’t hurt the walls. The Creepeez Wall Crawling Bugs won’t either. The two pack came with plenty of darts and since Eva’s room is nearly empty we were able to find almost all of them after we played. We did lose one of the 9 total Creepeez that we got but I’m sure that will turn up, too.

Eva with the Bug Attack Bow and Arrow

We also received the Bug Attack Bow and Arrow which was Eva’s favorite thing. She loves bow and arrow toys and fancies herself a sort of Merida-esque character. I’m really thinking that she might benefit from learning how to actually shoot a bow and arrow (might be good for a college scholarship). These arrows have suction cups on them and we got them to stick to the wall a few times and the bow string was pretty taut so these things flew. I didn’t get a chance to do a distance test on them but in the small space we were in they flew with some decent power.

Creepeez Wall Crawling Bugs

I think the best thing about these toys is that you are hunting down these Creepeez Wall Crawling Bugs and that puts the action in a more collaborative light instead of fighting against each other with the blasters. We’re on a mission to take out these nasty bugs.

Andrew did get in on the action after we had played for a while. He spent most of the time flinging the bugs because he was unable to load and cock the blasters on his own and tired of that quickly. I tired of it too. But he’s also 4 years old and this toy is recommended for ages 8 and up. Here is some more information about all of the toys and you’ll see that they are pretty affordable.
