One Lucky Guy

Photo-A-Day #1852

Today was one of those days where things really came together. I’ve been working up the courage to make a decent size ask and today I did so. Months ago I made a really, really big ask, I went for it, big time and in return got a well written but highly impersonal postcard. Today I adjusted my ask and tried again by knocking on a different door. This time everything came together so well. I can’t say much more about it now but soon, real soon I’ll have some cool things to talk about.

This photo I conceived of as I was playing princesses with Eva this evening. Eva was playing so nicely with her toys. I was going to grab a few of my Transformers minicons instead of the LEGO minifig. I was sort of going to go for a setup where the princesses were a bit disappointed with their choices in men. But then I decided instead to make that one minifig dude a very lucky guy. I was thinking of Transformers, Lego and Princesses. Probably because I watched the 1st episode of Transformers Generation 1 with Eva this evening. It was one of those moments where I think I made a big mistake. I mean, Optimus Prime is a Truck but Megatron is a gun.

Do I really want Eva to know what a gun is? I think I’ll be waiting a little while longer to share the rest of the series with her. She was so inquisitive too. “What does that guy turn into?” “Why is he a bad guy?” “Why is he a villain?” I was really at a loss as to what to tell her because honestly, why is Megatron so angry. Why does he want to be a tyrant over everyone on Cybertron? I know the comic books explain it a bit but it is not easy to tell a 2 1/2 year old why someone is bad.

I think we will stick with stories of princesses for a while.

It looks like my panel at Affiliate Summit East (Aff Link) is getting very popular. We’d been in the top spot for most of the day. It looks like people want us to speak. That would be me, Murray Newlands, Kristopher B. Jones, President, Tim Jones, and Eric Schechter. The panel is called Bloggers Successfully Connecting with Audiences and Advertisers. We would love some more votes in order to make it in as one of the panels.
