Photo-Hunters: Long 12/08/07

Photo Hunters BlogRoll

Side Trip

This road was so incredibly long. The shot was taken in Oregon when I decided that I wanted to take a scenic route. While the ride was very very scenic. I listened to about 25 podcasts and drove for 6 extra hours. To say that the road was a long one was an incredible understatement. However this is my absolute favorite road photo I have ever taken so it was worth the long hours along a long windy lonely road in Oregon.

I am running three concurrent contests this month. Today is the 8th, that means in one week I will be done accepting entries into the contest. There are a few people who are in the running to try and win a GiSTEQ PhotoTrackr Lite. But the race is by no means over and done with. However there are two other contests with prizes for 1st second and third place. So this month there will be 7 winners out of all my contests. That is if you participate. I have yet to get one entry in either the Win a Baby Sherpa Diaper Backpack or the Win a Mad Gringo Hawaiian Shirt contests. So what I am telling you is that you have a very good chance of walking away with some sweet prizes for writing a pretty simple post.

also if all went well I made it through the 1st round of the 3rd International Blog Cup and if so I am going to need even more votes in the next round. Please go to 3rd International Blog Cup and click the vote button next to the link to The BenSpark.

  1. Roads can be very long in eastern Oregon. I got lost once going to Halfway. We departed in the morning passing a sign that said Halfway 67 miles. About 45 minutes or so later we passed a sign that said –you guessed it–Halfway 67 miles. 35 of those next miles were gravel road. But it was the most beautiful lost I’ve ever been. (And yes, there IS a Halfway, Oregon, and it’s a LONG way from anywhere!)

  2. Oh, I love that photo of a long road! It looks so peaceful, and it kinda reminds me of my home state of Kansas with the barn and windmill and the one lone tree.

  9. WOW! I think it just might have been WORTH the 6 extra hours drive time too! Providing you weren’t in a hurry to get there… 🙂 Great shot! Thanks for stopping by my hunt!

  10. I had the time, luckily because once I got on that road there were no places to turn to get off, I just had to drive and drive and drive to get to the other end. Thanks for the visit.
