Ramses in Slumber

Photo-A-Day #2164

Today we had a really wonderful day. Eva had dance class this morning and Allison took a nice walk with my Aunt Corrine. I hung out home and got to watch Transformers Prime and G.I. Joe Renegades. I’m really enjoying the shows on The Hub (Even My Little Pony which I watch with Eva) The shows are great and aren’t dumbed down like past shows I’ve seen. Transformers Prime has some great callbacks to the classic shows and more. G.I. Joe Renegades is even better as they introduce new characters. I love seeing classic characters being re-imagined and then becoming part of this new tale.

When Allison and Eva came home we had lunch and then headed over to the Capron Park Zoo. It was a nice day and so it was a great day to get out and walk around. Eva got to run and play and see all the animals. She loves the lions and the other big cats. Another favorite place of hers is the in the dark exhibit. She kept going from exhibit to exhibit and saying she was making discoveries. She loved the snakes and monkeys as well. We picked up a family pass so that we could go back whenever we’d like for the year. It is one of my favorite places to go and take photos.

After the Zoo Eva and I went over to my friend Dan’s house for his 2nd Annual McDonald Dads and Kids St. Patty’s Day Celebration. Dan cooked up three corned beef briskets and a bunch of carrots, cabbage and potatoes. Our friend Tom came and cooked up some sausages. For the kids Dan made up some hot dogs on a professional hot dog roller.

When we got there my friend Chris was there with his two kids. Eva got right into the mix and was ready to have a great time. she did chalk drawing, hula hooping and face painting. Eva painted her own face for a long time and it was quite colorful. She even painted my face a bit and and Dan’s daughter’s face too. Eva loves playing with bigger kids. She was following around Dan’s daughter all night. I appreciate that Dan’s daughter played so nicely with her. She let Eva do some dressing up and more. Eva had so much fun that she didn’t want to leave and cried most of the way home because she enjoyed her visit so much.

I also had a nice time, it was great to catch up with Dan, Tom and Chris. these are guys I knew in high school and to catch up nearly 20 years later seeing where everyone is at is interesting. I also got to meet a few new guys and doing a Dads and Kids day was a great idea. The dads got to hang out and enjoy each other’s company. The kids got to play and meet each other, have hot dogs and cupcakes and enjoy a festive day. Dan even went and put together gift bags for all the kids. I appreciate what a hospitable and generous host Dan is and I look forward to hanging out again. I know that Eva’s also excited to play with the kids.

This is my own personal DSLR camera that I bought half of. My mother-In-Law bought the other half as an investment of great photos of her grandchildren. With over 26,000 photos of Eva and counting, I’d say she got great ROI on the investment. The opinions about them are 100% mine.
