Circuit Maze
Photo-A-Day #4129

This is a long overdue review of Circuit Maze from ThinkFun. They sent me this toy months ago before it hit shelves. Why it has taken so long is beyond me. so I am finally getting this review out there to you. The product was sent to me for free and the opinions are 100% my own.

Circuit Maze is another great logic game from ThinkFun. This time around the main objective of the puzzle is to light up some LED beacons. There are 60 different challenges that run from beginner to expert. It is fun 1 player game for ages 8 and up and it was challenging to me. I show you more about the game in the video below. After that is the official description of the game from the ThinkFun website. The game is $29.99 and available now.

The game is a lot of fun. It is so much fun that the kids opened it when I wasn’t home and started playing it on their own. They enjoyed it very much.

ThinkFun, Inc.’s Circuit Maze™ Breaks New Ground, Teaches Children How Electricity Works With Logic Puzzles
February 11, 2016 by Think Fun

ThinkFun’s® newest learning game, Circuit Maze, provides a boost of brainpower with logic puzzles that teach how electricity works.

Have you ever wondered what happens when you turn on the lights in your home? ThinkFun, Inc. has broken new ground in teaching complex concepts of electricity in a creative, safe, and entertaining way. Circuit Maze is a logic game that challenges players to solve puzzles involving electrical currents. When players have placed the different tokens on the game board correctly, and solved the puzzle, the beacons light up!

“Electricity is fascinating, but it can seem overwhelmingly complex, and you can’t exactly play with household electricity, since it’s dangerous. So we asked the question ‘how can we learn about it, and connect with it, and have fun – safely?’ commented ThinkFun’s CEO and co-founder Bill Ritchie. “This game puts the principles and concepts right into players’ hands. So, while they are developing reasoning and logic skills, trying to solve the puzzle, they learn how electricity and electrical circuits work.”

As the challenges progress, advanced circuitry concepts are introduced, such as series circuits, parallel circuits, series and parallel circuits in combination, and parallel circuits in bypass. Players can even practice free-form circuit modeling. World famous puzzle-creator Wei-Hwa Huang designed the 60 challenges players can encounter.

Circuit Maze is a single player game for ages eight to adult. MSRP: $29.99. Available: March 2016.
